Just curious if anyone in the community kept any fish as pets. I've got a flaming red betta named Floyd. He's commonly known as a fighting fish, and loves watching TV. I'm serious, he's mesmerized by it. He seems to be drawn to Zuma in particular. Whenever my fiancee or I are playing, he's always uppity about it.

Anyway, who's got fish? And more importantly, do they like video games?

I had 5 tropical sharks for while. 2 Iridescent sharks, 2 Tricolour sharks and 1 Red-Tailed Shark. They all died of the same disease.

EDIT: and I do like video games.

You're not allowed to call them fish, you have to call them Sea Kittens. PETA says so.

I don't have any fish, myself. I've always wanted a Beta fish though.

Before we had Floyd, a long long time ago (we're talking Grade 8 here) I had a goldfish named Oscar. My mom got tired of cleaning his bowl (I was a lazy kid) so she gave him to my uncle, who had a big aquarium full of fish. Among them was an algae eater who ended up attacking Oscar and ultimately killing him. Or so I believe to this day.

I used to keep fish, but they kept dying for various reasons. Long life, disease, overfeeding, dirty tank, eaten by birds. Fish have caused me to shed a lot of tears in the past.

I kept them for a five year period of my life. I'm not sure why I didn't quit sooner.

Recently my mum has bought a couple of fish to eat the mosquitoes in out back garden pond. I'm going to stay well away from them.

I got 3 goldfish after Kindergarten. They were actually some of the fish in my kindergarten class's tank, and my teacher was retiring that year and gave me some of the fish. They seemed to live forever, especially for goldfish. Eventually we bought one of those crappy algae-eating fish from some crappy unclean pet store (Petsmart I believe) and it got them all sick and they died. I don't think I played many videogames back then, and atleast not around them, but I think they would have liked them.

I used to have a couple of fish. Both died very soon.
Somewhat related, was I the only one who thought this thread was about eating fish the first time they saw the title?

I've gone through quite a few fish in my life. Usualy each member of the family gets one, and we keep them all in one bowl. They all end up dying because both my siblings like to overfeed them.
Also, my sister has this wierd obsesson with trying to make the fish die of fright. I think she expects them to just kind of spaz out and die on the spot. My sister is a twisted, twisted person.

I have a few tetras, 3 zebra fish, and a ghost shrimp(I origionaly put 5 of them in because I felt like it, but only this one survived). I suggest that anyone with a tropical, freshwater tank get like 15 ghost shrimp(they are feeder fish so they cost almost nothing), or more for a larger tank(a good amount of them probably won't survive the first month but the ones that do live a long time). It's cool having several compleatly transparent shrimp going around the tank all the time.

That stinks. Sorry to hear. My Floyd is doing fine. We bought him one of those plants that sits in his tank and he nibbles on its roots. Works very well for him. That, and the blood worm.

The "Sea Kittens" PETA campaign has made national news this week :(

On topic, we've had siamese fighting fish, they dont seem too interested in gaming tho as much as I tried

There was a fish genocide in my household.

We a whole tank full of fishies. We loved them. Then my sister's friend fed them. And fed them. And fed them. She ended up dumping the whole container of food into the tank. They ate themselves to death.

Well, at least they died happy!
