A couple of days ago, I started counselling to help with my depression and boost my self-confidence. One of the ways I was told to do this was to focus on the successes of each day, and write down five good things that had happened to me that day.
Even at this early stage, I've found that doing this has given me a real boost, and actually, I'm actively looking for things to do, whether talking to someone new, helping a friend with work, or even just starting a random conversation with friends.
So now, I ask you, Escapists, what are five good things that you've done or have happened to you today? It doesn't have to be big or impressive, as long as doing it made you feel happier about yourself, that's all that matters. I hope that doing this makes people more optimistic (and maybe it'll help to cut down of some this damned misanthropy that seems to be a plague around here sometimes!)
With that, to get the ball rolling, here are today's Five Good Things from me:
1. I was told by a classmate that I made him laugh.
2. Found an article on the net that made my friends laugh.
3. Impressed my Mandarin class by managing to fit all the new vocab into one impromptu speech.
4. Gave a group of younger students advice.
5. Was the only person in my Biology class to get on of the teacher's jokes.
