I hate to be one of these guys, but Yahtzee put it best: "If you ever make something really good that turns out to be frighteningly popular, it had better be the last thing you make in your entire life, because otherwise you're going to spend the rest of your creative career struggling under the weight of high expectations and bricks."

Odds are, he knows most people won't care nearly as much about anything he does if it isn't more FNAF. He's as trapped in this franchise as the serial killer in the rabbit robot from FNAF 3.

At this point, I'm just wondering which runs out first; Cawthorn's ideas or Markiplier's enthusiasm for them.

I'm not sure why everybody hates that he makes so many of these. The guy seems like a genuinely nice guy (he gives a ton of money to charity), he puts his heart into each installment, and people clearly still want to buy them.

The guy's doing something he enjoys and people are willing to pay for the product. What's the problem here?

Meh. Guy can do whatever he wants, really. I don't really care much for FNAF, as I have never played one, but people seem to enjoy his games, and he seems to enjoy making them, so cool. I mean, it is probably in milking territory right about now, but he is making his games for all of the right reasons, so I am happy that it is working out for him. Besides, he donates a whole bunch to charity, and he seems like a genuinely great guy, so he can carry on doing what he is doing, as far as I am concerned.

Proof that shamelessly milking a cash cow until you're only squeezing blood from the udders isn't exclusive to AAA developers...

Really? how many games can you make around the FNAFs simple premise? even the "scream at shit for clicks and money" youtubers seem to be getting sick of it.

Same universe, new series. I don't see what the big thing is. Calling it 'FNAF 5' is an overstatement; it's more than likely gonna be its own series.

More people should know that the only way to tell when a franchise is being milked is when future instalments have subtitles instead of numbers.

Joking aside, as much as I'd like Scott to move on (not just from horror, but FNaF) I don't see anything wrong with catering to your audience. That's the entire point of having audiences - give them what they want. I'm assuming people wanted a FNaF 5, which is realistic.

Normally I would say it is just another Restaurant which some unrelated events happened like in the other games.
However because it have the title "Sister Location", the Scott mean "Sister Company":

A company which is owned by the same parent company as another company. One parent company can have one or many subsidiaries, which all are sister companies to each other.

So now we reach little by little Resident Evil Theme, which a Company like Umbrella Corporation make some smaller companies or buy to have better results.

I am very curious what kind of company is in the new game.
