Another Skyrim thread:
I just started playing this weekend, and I think patch 1.1 was perfect. No game breaking bugs or glitches, just sometimes floating items.
Skyrim 1.2:
EVERYTHING is broken. Can't quick travel because the mouse button closes the map, cant quick select right hand items/spells because it closes the quickselect, can't close any books, can't take all items in any container AND cant give items to companions, no stat resistances / weaknesses. The final straw: When you learn new alchemy stats of items in the alchemy lab you cant press okay. Meaning you can't do alchemy.

Is this all just me or have other people been experiencing problems like this? Furhtermore, how in the world could Bethesda have released a patch this broken? Did they not test this patch at all?

Does anyone know a way to revert Skyrim back to 1.1? Cause I'm pulling my hair out trying to play skyrim like this :p

SOLUTION:
I find a fix,for me at least. Go to your skyrim folder, and delete everything but the folders(all the ini and configuration and exe files). Use steam to reacquire these files (verify the games cache).
DO NOT USE ANY MODS. I think i still have some mods that change texture files (glowing ore, better snow, better fire). The main culprit for me was Vals Crafting mod..... found the solution here: http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/481703-no-main-menu/

I havent noticed any of the glitches that you mention.. but that might be on account of the game CTD-ing every second time there's a loading screen..

As for the glitches you're having, it sounds like your key bindings might be seriously screwed up, or your game has just decided to have a nervous breakdown. If you're on the PC, try verifying the game cache to see if that fixes it as i dont think you can revert back to 1.1 due to steam.

I'm playing the console version, and haven't noticed any problems.
Maybe it's just a PC version thing?

I've heard that a few people have fixed various control issues by deleting any modified .ini files and letting Skyrim create them again.

Don't just trust me though, check out the various forums to find out.

Me, I'm fine. random CTD's seem to have ended and my frames are better inside dungeons.

Same here. I've noticed no difference in the game since the patch (playing on 360)

Well except for that fact that now I can get married without random suicides happening and ruining the ceremony!

I've made a thread earlier warning people not to download the patch. I haven't downloaded it yet myself, but I'm going to avoid it until Bethesda deals with the issue.

It's a shame really. I was hoping for a patch that would fix some of Skyrim's quests. Instead we get a patch that takes away elemental resistances.

Ah well. I still have Skyward Sword to keep me occupied.

Can someone please tell me how you can hinder Steam from uploading that patch?

I am on a PS3. In 40+ hours gameplay I had one freeze. After the patch I have played for 5 hours and I have had 7 freezes. I was on a dedric quest and it was not working even when I completed objectives.

I was unable to activate buttons, switches and levers and I could no longer buy and sell stuff as when I ask to see what someone has to sell the menu does not appear.

And the lag is still there.

And I cannot absorb dragon souls.

And I am a pure mage character so the no magic resistance and armor raiting is killing me.

But I have not seen any backwards dragons.

The people working at Bethesda must be a special kind of stupid to release a patch that not only does not fix what they set out to fix but also break the game in a whole load of new ways that actually make it even more unplayable than before.

Bethesda GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER!

What I find really ironic is that before the patch I wasn't having any texture problems on the Xbox 360. Now that I've downloaded the patch that was supposed to fix said texture problems, I'm having texture problems.

I liked that feature. The Husband/Bride's one true love/creepy stalker/disappointed father can't stand the sight of them marrying someone else/marrying a jobless adventurer whose only qualifications are fighting dragons and an amazing ability to steal everything not nailed down and makes a point of suiciding at the wedding.

The spouse realises they loved the dead person/blames you for their father's death and blind with grief attacks you.

...maybe I'm roleplaying a little too grimdark for Elder Scrolls ^^

I actually also liked the persistent dragon skeletons as well. Nothing better than turning up at a village and seeing the huge bones of a dead dragon and thinking "yep, I killed that."

It... sounds like the fix to the key bindings has edited yours.

Just look in that menu, and fiddle around a bit.
Do you mean the settings menu? yeah.... nothing has changed there, the game has just decided that my keys should do different things now.....

Right-click TESV in steam, go to properties, then updates, and change your update preferences.

Argh though.... this is the most annoying bug I've had in a game in years.

Me too. However I can see why they did it. Since Dragons are infinite in Skyrim and you play for 100/200 hours. You are going to get 4,5,6 Dragons piling up in every location to travel to! Hell I've been playing for 70 hours-ish and there should be 5 Dragon skeletons in the main courtyard at the Collage of Winterhold and that could get a bit crowded if any more show up!

Whelp... turns out that was a bad idea :p . Now Skyrim loads up normally, but the start screen doesnt have any buttons.

Man am i glad i playing a stealth character on this playthrough. No elemental thingies to worry about since i dont rely on them. But i guess im gonna be playing him a little longer instead of making a mage as my plan was.

And more power to you. May your questing in Skyrim be fruitful while other less fortunate souls attempt to breach the gates that opened for you.
