Ok, I'm looking to repair the damaged mini-B port on my PS3 controller. To do this I will have to de-solder the old, broken port and solder on a new one. I am unsure where to get a new port though. Will any mini-B port suffice? I was considering tearing apart a Moto Razr and stealing its mini-B port. Is this feasible?
The research I've done over the past day or so indicates there are many different models of mini-B port, and I think that the only difference in the models is the positioning of the pins that connect to the circuit board, so they should all function the same, though I'm not sure about this. Obviously it would be easiest to get an identical port to attach, does anyone know which model Sony used on the controllers and where I could go to buy it?
For reference, the port I'm talking about is the one in the top-center of the board, as seen in the top-right of the image found here:
