Yeah... you're definitely a truck nuts guy in spirit.
meh you strike me as a small eco-friendly hybrid type... ya know a pseudointellectual who hypocritically projects his insecurities on others as a way avoid dealing with them
Right. Guys who drive loud, giant muscle cars or giant SUVs are never, ever insecure. In the same way that guys who go around beating up gay people are extremely confident and comfortable with their sexuality.

I actually don't have an eco-friendly car, but would like one because a) I actually do give a shit about the environment and b) gas is fucking expensive. I'm not sure how not investing the entirety of my manhood in the decibel level my gas-chugging engine can produce could be construed as "insecure", unless you are a crazy person.

Also, I love how in America "intellectual" is somehow a bad thing. And then we wonder why no one takes us seriously.

hey your the one who started with the irrational stereotypes I was just returning in kind

also, apparently, you don't understand what the word pseudointellectual means... lol
Actually, my analogies were pretty rational. Guys who are really macho tend to do blatantly homoerotic things, and guys who are insecure often have vehicles to compensate.

And I do know what pseudointellectual means. I'm just fairly certain that, judging by how you present yourself, you just have a beef with people who are smart or liberal or have genuine feelings about things.

I live in the US, and I hate the big trucks; I think their annoying and stupid. I also hate it when people make their vehicles louder on purpose, its just obnoxious. If your actually a farmer or something that's okay, but most of these assholes drive them because their fashionably stupid.

eh no... you just seem to like to make irrational generalizations and jump to illogical conclusions

but hey if you need to tell yourself I'm just hating on you cause your a smart liberal who has genuine feelings about things... than go ahead we all have our own delusions that make life easier
To be honest I'm pretty sure you're a troll, but I was pretty bored.

rather funny that you started by spewing bad pop-psych that belongs as a punchline in a bad sitcom or coming out of the mouth of a guest pundit on FOX news and then go to calling me a troll

lol
Now now, Fox news would never mock someone driving a giant truck with truck nuts on it; that's literally 80% of their demographic.

Not going to bother to quote anyone on this, but drive/ride/pilot what makes you happy. Or the closest to what you'd like to have, whatever that may be. Pickups and SUVs in general are awesome for the things they were engineered to do. It just makes me sad to see so many damn vehicles like that restricted to "urban safaris". So many in my area (where I live outside of school) are purely driven in (sub)urban environments, never see dirt a day in their life, and only transport a soccer mom and occasionally one other person. Seems a waste of a great truck or SUV to only drive pavement and never tow anything. To those that use a truck as a truck, or tow something with their vehicle: respect. Keep rocking on. Also, I hope we continue to improve fuel economy across the board with all vehicle while improving power and torque so it's cheaper to do what you need to do and punish the working vehicles less at the pump.

I am not going to say anything, because my bias toward anything made by Chevy, Ford, or Chrystler, or any companies they own (like Dodge, Cadillac, and Lincoln) will cancel any real info......
Then why do you hang out on discussion forums?

On Topic:
Apart from them being massive and obnoxious, as well as a hazard the the environment.
Unless you're using them for their original purpose, to move things. Which is not why 80% of the insane number of people have them though.

The other issue is safety. A lot of smaller cars (not to mention pedestrians) just don't stand a chance if they're hit by a pickup or SUV at any speed. Because they build these things like tanks they just roll over a smaller vehicle.
Ah yes, the whole "small car is eaten by big truck" argument. Dont get me wrong, I will admit that there is something to be said that if most things become smaller then other drivers will be safer. But I still wouldnt want to drive a small car. Why?

And those are vehicles you cant exactly get rid of. At least with pickups and SUVs I stand SOME chance in an accident with them....Unlike that Chevy Sonic in my Captcha.
