I'll stop hating on MLP when people stop spamming it in my face. Also "brony" is a word 4chan made up by stitching "bro" and "pony" together. If you're like me, you'll realize "bros" are the lowest denominator in any social circles and so "brony" is a pejorative term for MLP fans.

I'm also doubly sick of putting up with people who think I'm secretly in love with the show whenever asked about my opinion of it. I sincerely fucking hate it because of the quite frankly RETARDED hype. It's the worst I have ever seen in my life, it tops even Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Skyrim, anything. The popularity of MLP exploded literally overnight all because of 4chan.

I can't see why people aren't content to just laugh, or make their own threads in which they can share the jollity created by the fact that grown men are watching little girls' cartoons.

We don't care if you like MLP.

We don't care whether or not you go anywhere else.

People are gonna complain, there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's like a force of nature.
What annoys me personally is that the people(some, not all)who like MLP make it out to be such a big deal. Not the show itself, just liking the show.

Seriously, stop deliberately bringing attention to MLP, the fact that you like it, the fact that some people don't, the fact people flame people for liking it and so on and then you'll have less people getting up in arms about it.

It's a cartoon with ponies. Big fucking deal.

EDIT: I'm aware that this could be seen as kind of antagonistic but I'm just trying to put it as bluntly as possible. Hell the only reason I haven't watched it already is that it's on at 7am where I live.
This.

Every word of this.

It's a cartoon written for little girls and it is about ponies.

We don't fucking care if you like it and your (the figurative 'your', here intended to represent the 'bronies') incessant "Y U B HATIN" is, in and of itself, trolling.

Every fan group deals with trolls.

EVERY fan group.

Fantasy fans deal with it.

SciFi fans deal with it.

Sports fans deal with it.

Literature fans deal with it.

Every single, and i do mean every single fan group deals with it.

You are no different and not remotely deserving of special treatment.

If your feelings are easily hurt by people suggesting that perhaps your love of a pony-centric cartoon designed for little girls is somewhat less-than-manly, maybe the internet is not the right place for you.

Either suck it up and ignore it, or stop bringing attention to it.

You are not different.

You are not special.

You are a fan.

Plain and simple.

The same as any other fan

There is a button that ignores posters. My recommendation is that you use it.

The guy's just trying to come up with some admittedly good ideas that would probably benefit the Escapist as a whole, and yet, as usual, I see the same posters in here kicking up a fuss like every other thread is about ponies. I still don't understand why you waste your time coming into these threads and picking fights; what exactly are you trying to achieve? Just ignore these threads. This is the first pony-related thread I've seen in a fortnight. This is not clogging up the Hot Threads list, this is not a disproportionate use of the Off-Topic forums, and there are certainly worse topics out there at the moment. I have no real interest in Skyrim, but I don't go wading into the topics saying people should stop talking about it and stick to a User Group, even when I saw one asking people how many types of cheese they were going to eat between now and Skyrim's release. Just leave the thread alone, and it'll either fall off the main page, or actually become an intelligent discussion, like it was meant to.

I have seen many pony threads and not a SINGLE thread discussing it on an episode to episode basis. (and you know im right here because im quite active against your herd ^^ )
This is why i classify 'brony' threads as basically just trolling, it is, to me, nothing more than people screaming "YEAH I LIKE PONIES WHAT OF IT AND YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS WRONG FOR NOT LIKING THEM".

Honestly, I have strong doubts that most of the 'bronies' actually even watch the program.

See, the thing, is, I NEVER do this. I NEVER enter into 'brony' threads and decry the program, the bronies, anything about them.

I invite you to check my post history, if you like.

This, here, is the first I have weighed in on the matter.

I am not asking for special treatment, I am merely suggesting that the bronies stop thrusting their massive victim complex into my face.

To be honest this is the first time I've posted in one of these pointless threads in a while but I'll bite. Yes you do have your own group and regardless of size there is no reason you can't have a discussion with some people in the group if you set the notifications right and just because other people make somewhat discussionless/pointless/horribly repeated and rehashed threads doesn't mean we should add to it either. Now I am going to happily go back to ignoring every single thread to do with MLP or any other thread I don't want to post in.

Just to say as a side note there is no need for some of the pony lovers to be sort of martyrs about you are far from the most reviled and picked on groups on this forum overall. Other groups or people with certain ideals have it just as bad and in some cases worse. Ponies are just popular to complain about at the moment. Also as many already a bit problem is not the fact that you like MLP the big problem is the number of people that like to draw attention that fact like it is super special awesome although thankfully that doesn't really happen to a large degree anymore.

That was more intended as a general announcement to everyone in this thread, I was just quoting you as I was paraphrasing your argument. The point I was trying to make is that while yes, there is a vocal minority of fans who do thrust the show onto others to the point of harrassment, for the most part we keep ourselves to ourselves. What I find ironic is that this is mirrored in people who don't like the show here: most just leave it alone, but every time I see a pony-related thread, it's the same few users throwing a hissy fit because someone had the tenacity to post a thread about something they don't like. As I said earlier, the frequency of these threads is blown way out of proportion by these people, who I'd like to venture have the same persecution complex of some of the fans. I'm just getting annoyed how, when once in a blue moon a pony-related thread with some actual discussion value in it (like the User Group Threads in this one) comes up, rather than talking about it sensibly, which I thought was the point of these forums, it gets derailed by the same users with the same (usually wrong) arguments and sweeping generalisations that apply to a myriad of other fanbases.

I am just curious but are you genuine with this line? Not to derail the rest of the argument but you are on the internet some people aren't going to do this on forums anyway and you're supposed to just ignore them if you don't want to argue. You know don't feed the trolls or something along those lines. If you can't do that you have to be willing to argue in circles a lot.
