I try to avoid saying that someone in an online argument is ever "stupid" because i really can't know the context in which their arguing and have been in a few online arguments where I thought I knew about the topic and got completely smashed with people responding by saying I was idiot.
The only argument that comes directly to mind that I don't care what context the douche bag's attitude was in was this one time that i was playing League of Legends and a guy on my team would chase enemies all the way into their base and get massacred by turrets, and then called me a noob for not running in with him. He only got 1 or 2 kills the entire game, and had well over 15 deaths, and was convinced I was the reason we were losing and he was doing nothing wrong. He did the usual; called me a ****** and such. I remember trying to reason with him at first that maybe he shouldn't run into their base but he persisted that I had no clue what I was talking about because I was such a stupid noob. Eventually i just ignored him, but we obviously lost that game and I never want to meet that guy again.

One time, on Gaia, I remember getting into a discussion about something philosophical. This one chick - or I assume it was a chick based upon the avatar they had - replied saying that my post made no sense whatsoever and called me something. I can't remember what the term was, but I remember it was a two word term from the book 1984 (or so she claimed at least) meaning nonsense person or whatever. So, I replied explaining my points again, and all she replied with was with that word again. Being 14, I kept replying asking her why my points made no sense, and she kept doing the same thing. It was funny when someone jumped into the conversation telling her that she should at least respond to my questions and points instead of name calling.

Oh, internet fights...

I remember a massive war that revolved around this one bloke on a TF2 surf server I used to frequent. He came to the server and started playing some songs using HLDJ. They had little snippets of Barack Obama's voice spliced into them. I think he was trying to troll us, but we actually enjoyed it and eventually he became a respected part of the community there.

Then after a long while, another bloke showed up there. He immediately took offense at the first guy and tried to get him banned. That didn't work, so he appealed to the moderators (who never showed up to investigate or took anyone else's opinions, at least as far as I knew) and managed to permanently mute him. Well, by then, we were ticked off at him - he'd just attacked one of the most popular figures of the community, after all - so a bunch of players got together and trolled him hard. I didn't take part because I don't enjoy that kind of thing, and I don't think he was actually trying to troll us, but he was a real pain in the ass so I just sat back and listened to him drowning in criticism. He started insulting anyone who said anything about him, and tried to pull a fast one on us by switching usernames and avatars and communicating only by text; but really it was just a drawn-out death rattle.

Some guy kept trying to bait me to reply to him after I wrote a comment about how Family Guy was degrading comedy on TV, and it should be wiped from existence. He kept sending me messages of how Family Guy's writing and voice acting was vastly superior to South Park and Simpsons (Even though I never mentioned the two), and everyone should thank Seth McFarlane for bringing the "greatest show ever" to their lives. I, of course ignored him. I know that wasn't really an argument, because I never reply to anyone who replies to my comments.

Won't name names, but I've got a couple big (probably troll) threads from here:

One was someone saying they didn't understand how it was wrong to just simply kill someone and take their stuff if you want it. The poster didn't bother to offer proper justification, but basically just kept responding with different forms of "So what if they're dead?" or how they would feel no remorse or empathy towards the victim's loved ones if they did it. It was like they really could not understand that murder is wrong, especially for a reason such as that, something pretty much universally agreed upon by humanity.

The other one I remember was when someone posted a chess puzzle asking to mate in two moves, I believe it was. People labored over it for a long while, while the OP promised to post the solution at a certain time. When the OP did, the solution used an illegal move, opening the rage floodgates with angry posts of proof that it's illegal, while the OP insisted that they were all wrong and that it was the solution.

Good times, good times...

I was on a chat/game site (Kongregate, if you're wondering) and this guy came in and started spamming quotes from the bible in all capital letters, so I started responding with quotes from the FSM. He told me to stop because 'This is a serious thing I'm doing, not some ridiculous fantasy' to which I replied that, if he can spout fictional nonsense so can I. Normally I'm very tolerant of other people and their viewpoints, but as soon as you go into a public chat, with no provocation and start spamming, I no longer have any respect for you. He stopped eventually (read as: after three weeks straight of the same thing) and he turned out to be an alright guy once he realized we wanted no part in it.
