I tend to like those flash games where you take one look at them and you know in your head you NEED to play them.

Too many to mention, but Kongregate and newgrounds have some really good ones.

Also, You Have To Burn the Rope is a great game.

Short, but absolutely wonderful
That game had me pondering the meaning of life for a little while...

There's one, who's name escapes me at this time, that mixes turn based exploration and real time zombie slaying. During the turn based phase you have a number of allocated hours to search for survivors (who back you up in fighting zombies), repair your barricades and search for new weapons. Once you have done that you basically have to "last the night" camping behind the barricades, shooting zombies before they can trash the thing and get to you. The main aim is to earn enough action points to progress from town to town and reach the evacuation point.

Wish I could remember the name because it is surprisingly awesome.

Came across this the other day, http://www.megami.starcreator.com/nanaca-crash/ surprisingly addictive and wonderfully quirky. Japanese instructions but you should be able to figure it out.
I was also rather caught on bubble tanks 2 a while back http://armorgames.com/play/1920/bubble-tanks-2

Good graphics, interesting set up, mainly fighting game with a slight show of back story to it.

Gotta love Tri-Achnid. Takes a little bit of getting used to, but fun stuff.

Also, I'd suggest opening that link in a new window and resizing it (to fit the intended resolution ratio. I gave this link so you can go mostly fullscreen).

Alternatively, if the fps is getting a little too low for your tastes, there's always the normal size.

That would be Last Stand 1 and 2

Indeed it is! Thanks. Last Stand 2 is brilliant.

Definetly http://www.mirrorsedge2d.com/. Absolutely great game tie-in. Short, but a fun, polished flash game. By the same guy who made Fancy Pants.

Setting the pace before it's time I would suggest Jake's Booty Call by the old Romp - http://outer.reaches.dyndns.org/Jakes_Booty_Call_Episodes.html

The drawing, animation and general style of this 30-odd episode flash cartoon series is better than most you see today. Jake making the wrong move is usually the most rewarding thing comedy-wise, these cartoons are well worth a look. Also to a slightly lesser extent Officer Krupt, Coach Bigot and Cooties Bar in that order. You can get to them from the Jakes Booty Call page, the links are down the left. Officer Krupt had a lot of potential but never continued past a few episodes sadly.

Enjoy :D

*EDIT* I just read the post above about bodily fluids and such, FYI this game has NOTHING like that..... XD

Well, let's see here. When you work as a librarian, you do tend to spend a fair number of hours looking for entertainment that can be had within a browser window, without sound, using only a mouse, so you can say I've run the flash game gamut.

So, if you like action, try these great zombie shooters:
The Last Stand
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ConArtists/the-last-stand
The Last Stand 2
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ConArtists/the-last-stand-2

If you prefer adventure RPGs, give these a go:
Monster's Den: The Book of Dread
http://www.kongregate.com/games/garin/monsters-den-book-of-dread
Hands of War
http://www.kongregate.com/games/Djugan/hands-of-war

If you're a puzzle-phile, here are some of the best I've seen:
Shift 1, 2, and 3:
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/shift
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/shift-2
http://www.kongregate.com/games/ArmorGames/shift-3
Portal: The Flash Version
http://www.kongregate.com/games/Dragy/portal-the-flash-version

And for the strategy lovers, these are my favorites:
Desktop Tower Defense 1.5
http://www.kongregate.com/games/preecep/desktop-tower-defense-1-5
Pandemic 2
http://www.kongregate.com/games/DarkRealmStudios/pandemic-2

Hope you guys enjoy these as much as I have.
I have actually played quite a few of these, and I must say, Pandemic 2 is both wildly fun and irritating...goddamned Madagascar.
