This is what tops it all off. One of the suspects moms was like "They're good kids, they have good grades, no problems in school. Wrong place, wrong people." No, they set a kid on fire within an inch of his life.

I heard elsewhere their lawyer is saying "they're too young to know what they were doing, and what the consequences are." The consequences of setting a kid on fire. Keep in mind they're 15 year olds who LAUGHED about what they did.

I think someone made a thread on this.

However I should answer your thread.

"I am really fucking pissed right now". (Excuse the language.)

Why?

"Well its not the fact that this whole event, was over a video game, or the fact that they attempted to steel a £500 bike, no it's the fact that the kids showed know regret whatsoever for their actions.

Their punishment should be a life long imprisonment, in Juvie because people like that do not deserve to walk free.

Lolz, This makes no sense at all. How do you not notice someone attempting to set you on fire? You must be completely oblivious or something.

Yeah I saw this on ABC news yesterday. While I was reading it at first I kept thinking "theres no way this was over a videogame". Then I read "the dispute was apprently over a $40 video game." FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!! Really!?

Great. Anyone want to take bets on when Jack Thompson's going spout off on some retarded nonsense. Now that he's apparently "not disbarred".

What is disturbing is the likelihood of them becoming WORSE criminals once they're released from juvie (at least the ones not being charged with attempted murder). They'll likely be out at age 21, violent and angry.

True pillars of society.

There was 4 of them and one of him. It wasn't a sneak attack.

That is truly horrific and shows what our nation has come to.
Scapegoating and passing the blame.

God Bless this poor boy. I cannot believe for the life of me anyone would choose to defend their actions. Sorry, but they should live with the consequences of immolating someone alive. Attempted murder, assault, whatever charges you can tack on. Try them as adults. They DO NOT deserve to get away with this.

Lawyers are so fucking lazy, that line has been used so many times. I remember being 15, I also remember doing some things at that age I'm not proud of and at the time knew were wrong but did anyway. It's absolute bullshit to throw comments like that around. I mean if that was the case then at what age do you start becoming aware of your actions and how it affects other people? 20? 30? In which case I'll go out and glass someone I don't like and claim I'm too young to know what I'm doing.

here's the thing your kids aren't good kids if they spend their time stealing and lighting people on fire

they are either insane and thus cannot be trusted to live in society
or criminals who cannot be trusted to live in society

I didn't post in the other thread about this, but:

I vote they get sent out in to the desert without any water and clothing.
The ones that return are free, but should be chemically sterilized and blinded.

If this is too cruel, then the desert part can be left out.

First off - Take skin grafts off them to use on other burn victims, without anisthetic.
Rub salt into the wounds then leave them to the mercy of the kids friends.

If they didn't know the effects of fire at 15, I somehow doubt the claims that they have good grades.
Ah max you can make me laugh at any story

Other thread? He must have worded it weirdly because I searched and all I got was "How do you want to die?" and crap like that.

Rather messed up I'd say, though I'd probably agree tha the suspects will get more violent as they get older.

Well, I gotta say not the best course of action, and they didn't really think it out too well, but if people are surprised this happens they need to wake up. It's a good thing this wasn't drugs or money for drugs the kid owed, because it probably would have ended up a lot worse. The kid should have paid up, or at least went to the authorities if he were being harassed.

It's crazy what some people will do over 40 bucks, hope the kid gets better.

Wow. Yeah, they're definitely going to get tried as adults. I'm sorry, but a thirteen and fifteen years old, I knew how fucking moronic it would be to light someone on fire, so the excuse the suspect's mother and lawyer are using is complete bullshit. I really hope are shown just how awful their crime is.

Here it is. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.149595]

Can't blame you not finding it since the thread name is completely unrelated to the actual content.

*sigh* And in the body it says nothing about the story.
