Have them rounded up and shipped away to a deserted island.
Isn't that how Australia came to be?

Okay, all jokes aside this is a serious issue with potential long-reaching consequences. I cannot offer any reasonable advise on the situation, I can only hope that this gets solved both quickly and ethically with very strict but fair judgments handed down to these criminals.

I have some rather dark humor I would love to apply here, but I think I will pass this time around.

Those kids deserve the harshest punishment possible.

EDIT: Death penalty FTW!

Now before you go and say, "But wait! They are only kids," I should tell you what their victim has to endure.

The victim will have to endure the following:

First, all of the burned portions of his body will begin to swell - causing extreme pain as the burned tissue is stretched tight. Next, he will become EXTREMELY vulnerable to infection as the burned portions of his body have no skin, thus it is FAR easier for infections to take hold. Those infections could attack all of his organs and cause them to shut down one by one. If he's lucky, he will be induced into a coma so he won't have to endure the pain, but that won't stop the infections, the swelling, organ damage/failure, and it won't cure him of the need for extensive skin grafts. The chances of death for extreme burns are pretty good. Even if he is stable for now, chances are he will get pretty damned sick withing the next few days (as the article says).

I hope they're tried as adults. And I really hate when parents use good grades as an excuse for shitty behavior. I learned that fire+skin=not good thing when I was in kindergarten. Just man up and admit that you're kid is fucked in the head and that you need to stop making excuses for them.

Sadly, the only thing I can say is...

Oh dear.

Our generation is definetely degenerating into something rather unpleasant.

I think someone made a thread on this.

However I should answer your thread.

"I am really fucking pissed right now". (Excuse the language.)

Why?

"Well its not the fact that this whole event, was over a video game, or the fact that they attempted to steel a £500 bike, no it's the fact that the kids showed know regret whatsoever for their actions.

Their punishment should be a life long imprisonment, in Juvie because people like that do not deserve to walk free.
Not juvie. Real prison. That, or just get lit on fire themselves. Without anyone to put them out.

I know but the reason I said juvie is because they are still to young to be tried as adults.

Wait how about this, they spend their years in juvie untill their at least 20, then they should be moved to prison were they will spend the rest of their days.

20 years? No.

Life. And it wouldn't bother me one bit if they were beaten to death. Preferably after being touched in their special places by a man they can just call, "Daddy".

Knowing the justice system of this society, no chance that those kids will get more than a couple of months in juvie. Maybe the dude with the attempted second degree will get some time for it, but not the other ones.

Now, as I read the article I couldn't help but notice that nobody mentioned this kid look(ed) a hell of a lot like Johnny Storm AKA "The Human Torch". Maybe they weren't taking revenge on him for their grand theft bicycle. Maybe they were just trying to make him more popular with the ladies by claiming he was a member of the Fantastic Four?

I'm just sayin'.

Really? The defense is trying to pull the "15 is still young" bull? F--k that S--t, try all of them as adults. Life in prison or the death penalty would be outstanding.

and $40 game? Seriously, are these kids retarded, or were they dropped when they were little? The mom who still thinks her kid is a good kid should be slapped.

You know, I'm fed up with the line "They're kids, they didn't know the consequences of their actions". It's bullshit.

At the age of 13, I knew very well the consequences of any actions that i would take that would break the law. So I didn't break it. If these kids didn't know the consequences of their actions, then they are stupid little brats who never listen when people tell them what the consequences are.

"They're good kids. They get good grades." They tried to steal a bike, and then set the owner on fire. Getting good grades doesn't mean you cant be a malicious little psychopath.

Honestly, if that'd their defense, then I hope they spend a long time in prison. They should be tried as adults, and lenience on them because they are children should not be applied. Children are smarter then people give them credit for, and I hate that people assume they can get away with attempted murder because of that. They should have known full well what they were doing if they supposedly did so well in school.

I hope the kid pulls through, allthough his life will be hell even if he lives, he will most likely be disfigured for life because of this.

Those boys... I've know some real fucks in my life, but these boys deserve to burn. If there is any justice in this universe that is what should happen.

edit: And for a $40 dollar game! I replied to another post earlier where someone asked what a concept so crazy that we couldn't get our mind around it (in other words what would blow your mind)

This blows my mind, just blows it away man.

Y'know, every time I read stories like these, I always jump the gun at "Shoot the fuckers"

Then people point out the horrors and downsides of capital punishment and they always talk me out of supporting it.

But even so, these are casses where I just want to commit Gestapo-like torture on these little pieces of scum, just because ignorance is the worst and most evil of all crimes, and the root of all evil
