So, I got home today, and went to plug something into my powerboard under my desk. While I was down there, I found a jellybean. I couldnt for the life of me remember the last time I had jellybeans, but I ate it.

So, do you eat things off the floor? And at what point would you not?

Edit: I should mention I had vaccuumed two days before, and later realised that it was from a party pack of lollies I had the night before. Not that any of that crossed my mind at the time

If I just dropped the food accidently on the floor? yes
If it's been on the floor for a while? no.

If it's small and been on the floor I never eat it. Larger things, it depends on how long its been on the floor and what part of the floor.

If I can't remember when I dropped it, or if the food has a lot of dirt sticking to it, I won't eat it. Otherwise, bottoms up!

Yesterday I was at a sushi place and dropped some lettuce on the floor. I picked it up and ate it.

If I see when it hits the ground and decide to eat it immediately, yes.

Granted that the ground isn't covered in anything gross.

No... just... no, me and my friend eat in a pizza restaurant once and he dropped his pizza underneath the table, he took it, clean it up a bit and eat it as usual. Now, this is a restaurant, where numerous people. wearing shoes sit and bringing in lots of dirts from outside, imagining that already quite nauseating.

Thirty-second rule (however scientifically incorrect it might be), or more if it's still clean.

If the food has been there for an indeterminate amount of time.......then no. I do not eat it. It winds up in the trash or the vaccuum and then the trash.

... Unless it was wrapped I would not eat food off the floor.

Heck, a guy I know won a science fair for proving that bacteria attached to food the very moment it touched the ground(five second rule debunked)

When I find something on the floor that has been there an indeterminate amount of time... well... it depends on what kind of food.
Hard candy=I'd probably eat it as long as its not covered in dust or something.
Anything perishable=It's going in the fireplace. Now.

As far as the jelleybean, I don't blame you. would've done the same. For food on the floor in general, I follow the 3 second rule

We have a dog rule at my house (you beat the dog to the dropped item, you can eat it).
