Like most people, it usually depends what it is, whether stuff has stuck to it and how long it's been there.

But at my fiances house, you never eat anything off the floor. This confused me to start off with... then I remembered they have a cat and a dog. So the floor probably isn't that clean >_>

Five second rule!
If I just dropped it, I'll pick it up and brush it off before eating it. If it's been lying there for an unknown period of time however it'll go straight to the trash.

Cat hair all over the floor though, so the five second rule doesn't always comply.

I have minor germaphobia, so the five-second rule is unthinkable for me. When I drop something and it hits the floor then it's dead to me, so to speak. If it's some thing I really wanted, like a rib, I take some time to mourn it and then proceed to eat whatevers left.

No, not ever. Even if it's the most delicious thing in the world. I'm not a germophobe or anything but it's just... icky.

I go with the 5 second rule. Otherwise it goes in the bin, or stays on the floor pending how lazy I am.

Sod it, my 5 seconds is about 10 mins.

If it is something with substance, then yeah i guess i would eat it, but if i randomly find it there but i dont know when it could have gotten there, hell no. who knows why it is down there, and in my house if the dogs dont find it the i won't or find it but dont eat it, then i dont want to eat it either.

I follow the 10 second rule. I don't eat anything if it's been on the floor for longer then that.
