I'm not that picky when it comes to food, unless it's bugs or Dates(fruit), but there's one particular item of food that I refuse to go near:

[HEADING=1]THIS UNHOLY ABOMINATION OF EVIL[/HEADING]

American "Cheese"

I rarely liked it when I was a kid, and pretty much despise it as an adult. There's just something to the taste of it that compares to some plastic-y byproduct. It's even worse when you heat it up, blah.

What kind of food/s you do not dare go near?

Yeeeeeeeah, I can't eat the stuff either. I don't know what it is, but it sure as shit ain't cheese!

OT: Meatloaf.

I'm sorry, but no. It smells and tastes nasty. It looks like a cow took a shit on a plate and someone thought it would be a good idea to bake it. I've had people tell me that it's because I haven't had their meatloaf, so I have no idea what I'm talking about because their meatloaf is awesome.

Look, I love me some meat, but that's where I draw the line for meat food.

No...No....No.....Toaster, listen to me....

You haven't had MY meatloaf yet :p

For myself, I am quite possibly the pickiest eater who has ever existed. Seafood is an automatic no-go for me. Just about anything you would put on a pizza that isn't meat is a no-go for me (so peppers, onions, "supreme" pizza stuff). Most Chinese food...

We're going to be here all day if I keep naming foods I refuse to eat :)

Chinese food.

Chicken.

Nasty, both of them. Of course, I'm only talking about the purportedly Chinese food you get from take-out places.

I'm usually willing to try anything, and I have a fairly diverse taste in stuff I do enjoy.. but I can't stand oysters and mussels. They are just disgusting.

Fresh onion is the bane of my existence, I can handle cooked onion to some degree but I can't eat anything that fresh onion taste has infected. I've went without dinner a few times when the food I specifically ordered with no onions had them included, I just can't handle the taste.

I agree. I'll tolerate the occasional grilled cheese sandwich when there's nothing else around to eat, but otherwise American cheese is vile. Its little brother, that gooey cheese substitute paste that people think it's good to put on nachos? That can also take a flying leap.

And just to prove I'm not a cheese snob, I am totally fine with powdered cheddar flavoring like what goes on Cheetos and the like. It's not the authenticity that gets me with American cheese, it's the consistency.

Speaking of consistency, eggs. I'll tolerate American cheese, but I refuse to eat eggs unless they are effectively invisible (like in baked products or mixed into ice cream). If I can detect a whiff of egg taste or texture then I do not eat the product. That means mayonnaise is a complete no-go for me. Honestly, sometimes I feel a little gaggy just looking at egg products.
I agree with powder cheese(go cheetos), it's just that nasty ass American cheese consistency that just feels/taste off :/

On the topic of breakfast related food this might be considered blasphemy by some, but another food i can't stand is bacon. Used to love the hell out of it as a kid and just suddenly hated it.

I'm always willing to try anything once. That said, I don't foresee myself wanting to eat jellyfish again at any point in my life.

For those of you who haven't had it (which I assume will probably be most of you), imagine what you think the texture of jellyfish is like. Got it in your mind? Well you're wrong, jellyfish is crunchy, crunchy like a fresh cucumber. It's this disparity in texture that really gets me, and prevents me from enjoying it at all.

Also add to the list Brussels sprouts and broccoli, both of which I can't stand the taste of.

Fried food of any kind. I don't mind the taste so much, but I hate the grease, and it always makes my stomach hurt afterwards.

THIS UNHOLY ABOMINATION OF... oily food.
I'll eat anything that is actually food, unless its so oily that its fuck'n shiny. Fast Food isn't too bad, just went to a Chinese Place that made KFC look like Subway.
Can't really elaborate on that tbh...
I don't like rice.
or Fish.
Umm yeah.

Asparagus. Between its taste and smell, there is something absolutely broken about that vegetable.

Also I have mycophobia.

I've traveled most of Europe and gone to the US once and had faire food... so far the only the only thing I've ever tried and will forever more refuse to eat was pork trotters in jelly. The meat was great... but the rest (read most) of it was gross.

I eat pretty much anything that isn't bad for me and tastes relatively good. The only exceptions are insanely weird foods (i.e sheep's brain and things of that sort) and untoasted sandwiches. I don't know why, but eating untoasted bread makes me gag. I feel really bad when I'm in a position where someone has prepared me a sandwich, so I'll eat a bit of it but say I'm not hungry. Though really, I'll feel deathly sick after eating one. It's got nothing to do with what's in it, just the bread. Toasted sandwiches are fine though strangely.

Hamburgers.

I loathe ground beef. So that would include things like meatloaf and meatballs. Though I have had those things before, which is why I know I don't like ground beef. I have also yet to have a steak I enjoyed. I want to say I just plain don't like beef but that's not true, I love be some beef jerky from time to time.

I also don't like things that are fermented/vinegary so that's kimchi, sauerkraut, and pasta salads.
I don't like the taste of mayo, but I'll eat it if I have to.

And also lamb, but that's because I'm allergic to it.

Otherwise, I'd like to think I'm pretty flexible when it comes to food. I like trying new things. A far cry from what I was when I was little.

Edit:

I was like this too at one point. But then I cam to realize there is just no avoiding onions. I swear they're in everything.

I sometimes buy grated cheese when I'm feeling lazy (NEVER American cheese!) and American cheese kinda reminds me of the cheapest packages we've got here. They aren't actually allowed to call it cheese so it's actually called "Grated value package" or Grated Pizza Mix or something similar. Some of it contains almost 30% cheese. It sums up what I feel about American cheese...

OT: I can't really think of anything. I eat pretty much everything although I don't always enjoy all of it. That's life, sometimes you have to settle. I do try to steer away from sweet desserts, but I'll accept it if I'm being offered.

I can usually eat most of the things I do not like, there is only one exception: Tomatoes. Those squishy red balls of eeeuuuuurgh. I have hated them for as long as I can remember.
