OT: I was playing MW2 online with Commando Pro, and I jumped out of that high window at the construction site thingy. Turns out, a member of my team was right behind me and tried that as well.
Only he was a beginner and didn't know what Commando Pro was.
I think you can predict what happened form there.

I've never played MW or MW2
Went on a Knifing spree in MW2 while singing Get it Up by Mindless Self Indulgence.
Whenever I play Left 4 Dead 2 if I'm the Charger I usually shout "Put that Cookie Down!" in my mic before I do a charge.

Well, Commando Pro is a perk that lets you fall from high ground without taking any damage.
The other guy didn't have it, but jumped form high ground anyway because I did it.
So he died.
Not so much foolish, but it sure was funny. A friend showed me that in TF2, as a Heavy you can throw your sandvich on the ground with MOUSE2, so a teammate can pick it up. A Sniper from our team saw him throwing his sandvich (in the respawn room) and after looking at the sandvich on the floor for a few seconds he spawned as a Heavy to try it for himself.
Lately in TF2, I find my self just going on 2fort and melee rushing as a Demoman or Soldier.
It's better than it sounds, there is usually one guy in the entire server who gets pissed at me for not being a "Credit to team".

GTA IV during freemode, we were on the first island on that really really long stretch of road after the arch thing...
Well a guy was sitting at the RPG spawn and was blasting everyone away.
There were no cars on the streets, which was too bad, but I managed to get away and steal a cop car from the police station down the road.
So I started effectivly steamrolling all of the dudes sitting in the middle of the street while yelling "WEE WOO WEE WOO" through the mic...
I got some attention, and it took a group effort to finally stop me.
That is probably the silliest thing I've done...

Not the maddest, but one of the things me and a mate did in Gears of War (1) was simply to walk for the entire game with nothing but the lancer out, and proceed to blindfire whilst still walking forward shouting "GET TO THE CHOPPA!"
The best bit was when I got the entire enemy team this way on Gridlock after my team quit.

Most foolish would have been the time I was in a game of infestaton on AvP, there was me and 2 other guys. When I saw the 6 other alien players make a rush for us, I bolted out a rear exit and left my team for dead. I won the match, but they were pretty pissed.
Another one I recently had was in BF: BC2 online. I chased a guy across a map and up a 3-floor building to use the repair tool to end his life and snag "The Dentist" achievement in the process. I was revving the tool the whole time, so it must've looked like I was chasing him with a damn power screwdriver.

My favorite foolish moment I've ever witnessed (though I'm sure it wasn't the only one in teh Interwebz) was a post on Gamespot (yeah, the paragon of intelligentsia, I know) that said that Prince of Persia: Sands of Time was a total ripoff of God of War. As if that wasn't bad enough, little trolltasic poster then proceeded to defend himself for about 10 pages. Oy.
Yeah, that's why it came out before God of War.

This isn't the silliest thing I've done, but it immediately comes to mind, as a Rogue on WoW I use Distract so that bosses turn around and look at the people in stealth, then it attacks them causing them to die more often than not. It used to work quite well on Alterac Valley, and some raids/dungeons. I find it funny, even when it's used against me.
Also, it's fun on GTA IV to get people in a helicopter who don't play the game much and tell them you're taking them to a secret island. Then, take them out into the sea, tell them to jump out so that the island appears, and then fly off. It's funny..

OT: Nothing as funny as above but something quite awesome involving Halo 3, a sniper rifle, no scope and a very good twitch reaction on a team-mate.
Needless to say, I was TK'd for the rest of the match but it was good fun teaming up with the other team to kill my own team. Then kill them.
How 'bout anyone in BF:BC2 that tries to attack tanks with the Blackhawk by ramming it into the tank, while flying low in a straight line towards the 120mm barrel? "Gee, I wonder what's going to happen..."
And on the subject of pure idiots in forums, the one guy that wrote "Western mecha's are the coolest, we have Metal Gear!", closely followed by all those saying that "Tyranids is a ripoff of Zergs".
