Yes, when not logged in (which is most of the time) I get this LOADS. It's a huge pain in the balls.

I see it quite often on here, although only when I'm not logged in.
What really tends to annoy me is the adverts that take over when you try to watch a video on here, banner ad's and the background ad's are fine but when an advert forces me to watch it, I get annoyed.

I had it once earlier today(yesterday now) and it slowed me down quite a bit when it loaded up.

Yup, I'm getting it too, in Firefox and nowhere near the US. Seems to be only this website, but it doesn't necessarily mean it has the consent of Escapist - AFAIK its viral adware that attaches to websites in order to attack passing traffic.

Yeah the Footer bar pops up ever once and a while. God damn I had this fucking fad. No website, I don't want a bar filled with useless crap popping up at the bottom of my screen.

Some of them can lag the website too, which blows.

So it's back for you guys? I haven't seen it on The Escapist in months. I've seen it on other sites, though, along with implementations of Meebo that were actually less annoying than the ones we had here -- which means the good people of The Escapist probably requested some optional and highly annoying features. Anyway, there are always ways to get rid of ads, but the only one I'm allowed to mention is the Pub Club. Talking about anything else is a bannable offense around here, and I'd like to get my Neo badge one day.

I was getting them a week or two ago with ads for Skyrim. A bit annoying but whatevs. I'm sure the accidental clicks got some cash for the escapist.

I got this bar today and Kaspersky told me the AD was a phishing URL.

Granted it might be a false positive but still, i don't really like the virus scares.
