You're welcome and I agree. Another thing that disturbs me is how this guy thinks that just because his daughter has "accepted her punishment", what he did was perfectly alright. So if I beat my (hypothetical) wife every day as a punishment and she then evnetually learns to "accept" it, then it's perfectly alright. Thanks, mr. Jordan. I feel so much more enlightened now.Owyn_Merrilin said:Thank you. Sad that it's buried under so many wackos who think either that a 15 year old needs the same kind of parental relationship as a 3 year old (potty training comments, seriously?) or that turning 18 somehow magically changes the definition of abuse. It's about what it does to the emotional state of the individual being abused, not who is doing it to them. Also, why is everyone taking this guy's word at face value? The thought process seems to go "well, he says his daughter is spoiled, so she must be lying, and he must be telling the truth!" The only thing we can tell for sure is that one of them is lying and I'm not sure why anyone would even /suspect/ it was the daughter after watching that video.FallenMessiah88 said:OP = Win! For once it's good to see some common sense and decency on this site!
As for people taking the father's word over the daughter, maybe it has something to do with what type of person people assume that she is based on the video and therefore whatever hardships she will now have to face are completely justified. Oh and I also love how some people say that all those who even dares to support her are "rebellious teenagers". Stay classy, Escapist.
But yeah, maybe the daughter is a spoiled brat and maybe the did deserve to get punished. But what mr. Jordan did here was way to excessive. In fact, it seemed like he only did it because he felt like his "manhood" was threathned and so he had to prove how "tough and manly" he is by acting like a damn 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum.
Grounding her. Okay. Taking away her computer and/or internet access. Okay. Telling her that she can't go to *insert important social event here*. Okay. Shooting up her laptop with a 45. and posting it for all the world to see. Definetly not okay.
For shame, mr. Jordan. For shame.
