OP = Win! For once it's good to see some common sense and decency on this site!
Thank you. Sad that it's buried under so many wackos who think either that a 15 year old needs the same kind of parental relationship as a 3 year old (potty training comments, seriously?) or that turning 18 somehow magically changes the definition of abuse. It's about what it does to the emotional state of the individual being abused, not who is doing it to them. Also, why is everyone taking this guy's word at face value? The thought process seems to go "well, he says his daughter is spoiled, so she must be lying, and he must be telling the truth!" The only thing we can tell for sure is that one of them is lying and I'm not sure why anyone would even /suspect/ it was the daughter after watching that video.
You're welcome and I agree. Another thing that disturbs me is how this guy thinks that just because his daughter has "accepted her punishment", what he did was perfectly alright. So if I beat my (hypothetical) wife every day as a punishment and she then evnetually learns to "accept" it, then it's perfectly alright. Thanks, mr. Jordan. I feel so much more enlightened now.

As for people taking the father's word over the daughter, maybe it has something to do with what type of person people assume that she is based on the video and therefore whatever hardships she will now have to face are completely justified. Oh and I also love how some people say that all those who even dares to support her are "rebellious teenagers". Stay classy, Escapist.

But yeah, maybe the daughter is a spoiled brat and maybe the did deserve to get punished. But what mr. Jordan did here was way to excessive. In fact, it seemed like he only did it because he felt like his "manhood" was threathned and so he had to prove how "tough and manly" he is by acting like a damn 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum.

Grounding her. Okay. Taking away her computer and/or internet access. Okay. Telling her that she can't go to *insert important social event here*. Okay. Shooting up her laptop with a 45. and posting it for all the world to see. Definetly not okay.

For shame, mr. Jordan. For shame.

Basically, his daugther posted on her facebook how bad her life was, so he called her out on it online and punished her by, among other things, putting nine bullets into her laptop. Pretty much something that should have flown by unnoticed but the world loves it's weekly celebrities.

Honestly the man was very calm and his reasoning was sound.

Then he took out a gun and shot a laptop.

He lost all credibility at this point. He stupidly cost himself the $130 he spent upgrading the thing plus however much the laptop cost in the first place. He was on record saying that he worked in IT for a living. He didn't know a better way to make his point than that?

Guns should not be used to make points like that. He doesn't deserve that weapon if he's going to be so irresponsible with it.

The daughter's a ***** and the dad's a lunatic. God help the mother.

How about you showing that to the girl herself?

Yes his punishment is harsh and unconventional but hey it could of been alot worse. Remember that other father who punish his daughter using some medevial gears or something like posted on here ages ago?
To be fair his punishment is somewhat fitting seeing how some of us are spoils and rely on technology these days and heck I would go mad without internet for ages!

Beside despite the event had happen, last time I've read they came to a truce and sort it out like mature people (yeah she was pissed but accepted it).

I'm surprised he doesn't seem bothered with random people online calling his daughter a lazy, entitled shit that is an embodiment of everything wrong with this generation of dern kids and their facebooks. It's probably going to bring about a shitstorm if it hasn't already. I mean he made a controversial move and now there's a ton of people who hate either the dad or the daughter.

Oh and he tries to play like he managed to find out what his daughter said through his sweet hacking skillz. Yeah, no, what he did was he accessed the family dog's facebook. Their family made facebook page for their dog which the daughter forgot to block.
