For people who refuse to buy black ops. Fanboys stay away please.

I'm not a fanboy, the first COD game I bought was COD4, about 2 months ago. I did however decide to get black ops, and while it isn't my favourite game it is at least fun. Its the sought of game that I'l dip back into every now and again just for a change of pace (or to play the zombie mode which has been done surprisingly well). I'll admit happily that there isn't much new to the game, and most parts can be taken out separately and shown to have been done better in other games, the fact is that as a package it all works well.

I have to ask that if it sells just because its mainstream, why it sells better than any other main stream title? Avatar was a fairly mainstream film, but it sold better than other titles because it was polished and entertaining. Word of mouth and more an more people go to see it. Bit like that for COD:BO, but for me I actually got a play test first on friends machine as I wanted to make sure it was good before I bought it.

Its actually not a hate thread, like i said, anyone of the spectrum of opinions can leave a comment and ill read and reply maturely. I even said if your a fanboy leave a comment. You should probably change the tone of the OP in that case.

You'd have to be pretty fucking gullible to think a game which repeatedly states the date of your missions taking place at various times through the 60s/70s was 'Modern' warfare, but, ok.

I said it was the same game, not the same time period. Give Call of Duty 7 a space background 200 years into the future and call it a space shooter, but it doesnt change the fact that its the same game, even if it pretends to be in a different time period.

You said you'd be fooled if someone told you it was Modern Warfare 2. Except you wouldn't, unless you paid absolutely no real attention to the game.

Quit bitching about stuff you dont even know about and give the thing a try.
Still dont like it? Whatever, thats cool, but dont outright hate it unless a bunch of reasons to are almost literally punching you in the face.
