You missed the point here, bud. Metallica. Not Megadeth (even though I like them more). For those who keep saying, "Why all the Megadeth references when we're talking about Metallica?" it's because Dave Mustaine, the lead guitarist/vocalist for Megadeth was in Metallica and wrote a bunch of the songs off Kill 'Em All. He formed Megadeth in an attempt to show up Metallica after Lars and James kicked him out for doing too many drugs.

OT:
Album- ...and Justice for All
Song- Orion
Yeah, I know, just being a dick. Megadeth > Metallica.

Seek and Destroy- Kill Em All.

Ride the Lightning is my favourite album, I can't be bothered trying to even narrow down my top 10 favourite songs so I really can't be bothered to narrow it down to one song.

lol someone said metallica is bad but they like the Black Album... BWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Ride the Lightning is the best album, followed by Kill Em All and And Justice For All in that order.

My favorite songs are Creeping Death, Am I Evil, and The Thing That Should Not Be.

Can't pick just one.

this is more difficult than i had first percieved. anything before 1990 is AMAZING.
My favourite album would have to be a toss up between ride the lightning and master of puppets. i found that the mixing of justice was a a bit dry, so i didn't like it as much as i'd hoped... although any of the justice songs performed live are amazing.

my favourite song is also difficult decide. i'm tempted to just say master of puppets and be done with it, but there are so many others amazing songs. fade to black, one, harvester of sorrows, disposable heroes, for whom the bell tolls etc.
i feel like i've rejected the black metal album here, and as much as many people will dismiss it as a sellout, some of it is truly amazing. nothing else matters is beautiful, sad but true is one of the heaviest songs to ever be written, and the unforgiven is something of an epic.

That said, i think i'm going to have to decide on the great master of puppets. R.I.P Cliff Burton.

But album would be the black album? =3 and song, the unforgiven. *duck and cover*
You hardly have to duck and cover.
I myself am a Metallica fan.And I enjoyed the Black Album for the most part.
Sure some songs could be improved with just one or two adjustments.
But all in all,and nice album that you can easily listen to.

OT:
My favorite song would either be One,Fade to Black or Call of Ktulu.
All are great, and epic. But I can´t give my heart to just one of them.

My favorite album would be either Kill 'em all or ...And justice for All.
They hold the best Metallica songs in my opinion.
But all albums up until Reload were greatNot counting live CD´s..Yes I liked Load. What of it?Then they went downhill. Then my faith in them rose a little with Death Magnetic.
They went more to their roots with it.Much more so then St.Anger.And I hope that if they make another album, that it will be as good as the old stuff.

Album: Black Album
Song: Depends, usually Enter Sandman though for some fantastic work by Kirk, Nothing Else Matters is another one that holds a special place in my heart though.

What is it with every metalhead on the Escapist liking only Metallica and Megadeth?
I like loads more metal than that. Just sayin'. But I see what you're talking about.

OT: Album is kind of a mixed bag. But song, I'll have to go with Battery, Dyer's Eve, or Fight Fire with Fire, solely because I like thrash metal that's really fast.

Being a huge Lovecraft nerd it would have to be Call of Ktulu for favourite song. As for album, I'm torn between Justice for All and Ride the Lightning.
