For the older gamers (10+ years of gaming), what is your GOTD (game of the decade)?

Twilight Princess. Without question. Perfectly paced and wonderfully atmospheric. Truly the best 40 hours I've ever experienced in gaming.

I assume we're talking 2000-2010, right? If we're going 2001-2011, Portal 2 comes into the equation... And I honestly couldn't decide between the two.

anyway FFX hands down, nothing even compares
Hey I'm only 17 but I've been gaming for easily longer than 10 years, I still remember playing Doom and Star Wars on the Snes!

And I would have to say that the best game of the last 10 years is definitely Modern Warfare 2... I kid, I kid. But in all seriousness probably KotOR or maybe Halo CE. Why the hell does this question have to be so difficult!

Armed Assault 1 and playing the fanmade Evolution mission in COOP with 20+ players. I've never seen better coop action in any other game, it was mindblowing.

Morrowind, followed closely by Oblivion. Huge TES fan here, love the freedom, the exploration and the huge worlds. I also love how the combat works in the series, I know it's a little simplistic, especially in Morrowind, but I always found it incredibly immersive and enjoyable, likely thanks to the first person and the feeling of feedback you get from it.

Best game since 2001?

It's not my favourite game, nor was it the one that I had the most fun with, but Red Dead Redemption was and, honestly, still is the most impressive game that I've ever played. A tight and interesting story, believable characters, and a spectacular ending. The thing that really wins it for me, however, is simply how real it felt. Unlike, say, Oblivion, the wildlife was totally and utterly seamless. The landscapes were utterly stunning, and walking down the main street of Armadillo was utterly incredible. The NPC animations were all perfectly fluid, and the town felt alive. Although I have high hopes that Skyrim might match Red Dead's achievements, that is, for the moment, just speculation.

TL;DR: Red Dead Redemption. Not my favourite game, but far and away the most impressive game that I've ever played.

I'll go ahead and say Final Fantasy 6, even though it came out in 95 its been re-released in that timescale so imo it counts.

Oh as for my 'credentials' 28 years a gamer

I'm going with Bioshock. The atmosphere was amazing, the story so compelling with a twist I never saw coming and the gameplay was definitely well thought out. To this day I don't think we've been able to create anything like it. Yes, there is Infinite but Rapture's spooky and dark atmosphere would be impossible to recreate. Unless you're Ken Levine, of course.

MEGAMAN 9 or super meat boy. Those games are absolute perfection. Honorable mention : Street Fighter 4, for finally giving fighting games the boost they so desperately needed.

Baldurs Gate 2.. I have played it through at least 20 times and if a version with updated graphics came out I would be a happy camper.

I sooo wanted to say Battle Tanx for the N64, but it came out in 98.

So I'll go with either Call of Duty 4 or Oblivion. Probably the latter. Captured my imagination.

10 years? Bleh.

I'll pretend I didn't understand the question and say Thief 2: The Metal Age.

Morrowind, or maybe Warcraft 3.

Morrowind was just so groundbreaking at its time. I still play it and prefer it over Oblivion.

According to metacritic [http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/all/pc?sort=desc&tag=supplementary-nav;item;7] that would be Half-Life 2, and I'm inclined to agree with it. Then again a lot of good games were released the past decade.

Suikoden, didnt even have to think twice. Epic storyline, great graphics for the time, excellent music score, 108 collectible characters and a surprising amount of replay value.

This would possibly be followed closely by Baldurs Gate 2.
