I WILL be a dark elf. (because I always am)
I'll probably stick to what I usually am, a stealthy magic user.

Usually, when I play Elders Scrolls games, I don't really focus that much on the story my first play through, I usually just explore stuff and do side quests. This time, I'll try and get through the story related quests my first play-through. (but I'll still be doing a bunch of the side quests! :p)

I'm going to be an Ork by the name of Agayek, and I will almost certainly be a dual-wielding warrior badass. I might end up going spell-warrior type thing, but that mostly depends on the shouts and how they work.

And yes, I do mean 'Ork' in the Warhammer sense.

I plan to make my character Vixxen, the Dunmer Huntress with a malfunctioning moral compass, complete with Bow and Dual-Swords ^^

Gonna be a fun, fun day :D

Doesn't the dragon kill Beowulf?
Yes, but Beowulf also cannot effectively use swords because he is so strong he breaks them. This is not an exact re-enactment of Beowulf, obviously. This is just putting the character in the game.
I understand; I was just seeing if I remembered it correctly. I never read it properly, just bits here and there when I was much younger.

I'd expect there to be quite a lot of Beowulf in Skyrim. It's the most famous ancient story set in Scandinavia, and I'd be very surprised if Bethesda haven't looked to it for certain influence.

Anyway, to answer your question, I'm waiting to see what the other races look like before I start planning the kind of character I'm going to play. So far I've liked what I've seen of the Nords, shields and the Dragon Shout system, so I'm tentatively considering going as the stock Nordic sword-and-shield-wielding Voice. However, Orcs looked great too, so I might mix it up a bit.

However, if I like what I see of the magic system and the Bretons, I'll consider trying a full magic user for the first time in an Elder Scrolls game. If I think it's good but not so good that I want to forsake weaponry, I might make my character a Dunmer battlemage (a refugee from Vvardenfell perhaps?).

My main character in Oblivion was a sweet, sneaky Wood Elf girl, so I want to try something different this time.

I've always been a Dunmer battlemage type charactor. I usually go in hard, but on other playthroughs I added stealth to my class, which worked out surprisingly good. This time i might be a nord with duel wield sword and axe

I currently have no roleplay plans, but I they usually come after I become familiar with the game. I guess I will focus on the story the first playthrough, then explore the game the subsequent playthroughs.
Well, you were fast on the scene XD

I always have a few characters in mind when I start one of Bethesda's games.

The first is always my "Action Movie" character, a gritty looking man (in Oblivion and Skyrim this means Imperial) who always tries to do the right thing while looking amazing doing it.

The second I play is my Hellion character, who exists solely to cause as much chaos and destruction as possible. Thus, I will use him to murder all the dragons, and then destroy Skryim personally.

Finally I play the sneaky kleptomaniac thief, who does quests and acts good, but also steals anything he can find and collects it in his various homes and bases.

Well, in Oblivion, I once managed to start a kind of gang-war between the Skingrad Mages Guild and the Skingrad gaurds, through the strategic use of "Enrage" spells (or whatever it's called). Seriously, all but one member of the guild died (the one survivor had a quest and couldn't die) and they took like, 10 guards with them.

I also attempted to systematically be incarcerated in-and then break out of-every prison in the game, taking a guard uniform of the town in question each time as a souvenir.

So I'll probably see if I can re-create one of those.

I'm playing an orc and will start out beefing up my fighting skills, mainly heavy armor and whatever weapon combo i decide is best, either two handed weapons or some kind of combo of one handed weapons, spells and shields. Mid to late game I'll work on sneak and max out the magic skills that are worth the effort.

I'm also definitely working on unarmed so I can punch a mammoth to death. And a giant. And eventually a dragon. Killing stuff with unarmed is a great way to feel manly.

I've made this kind of character in both morrowind and oblivion with great results. I also want to say hello to Umbra and Maiq the Liar.

Nord - Custom class: "Marauder"; Magic except for alchemy is a minor skill while combat, heavy armor, marksman, and sneak are prioritized. While it starts out hard with the conflict between sneak and heavy armor counter-acting each other, I find it to be quite a potent ambush class once sneak is properly leveled up.

Strategy is to sneak around, poison and damage enemies from afar with arrows, then fight or finish off whatever survives in close combat - which is why the heavy armor is used instead of light.

Sure, a mage using the 100% weakness to magic and etc. is technically easier; but I just prefer the attack style of ambushing enemies rather than myself be attacked.

When not killing everything in sight for whatever they have on their corpses, I'll probably then go and steal everything from every household and pawn it just to feed my deeply-ingrained sense of kleptomania.

Hope Skyrim doesn't take away the class customization option. I hate being orthodox in my methods of pillaging the world.

Not sure what race, probably Nord, but I plan on going with a dual sword wielding, specialised monster hunter with a bow for ranged combat if the situation calls for it and basic proficiency in magic, basically the bare essentials as far as spells go.

I plan to live off the land, hunt animals and monsters, take whatever I can take from them and sell them. Be nomadic, wandering from the top of Skyrim's snowiest peaks, to the lowest flat lands I can find, drifting between cities, making my own home out in the wilderness, never staying in one place too long and never relying on one town in particular for my trade, I'll keep on the move all the time and explore anywhere/everything that catches my eye.

After sufficiently carving myself a living, getting myself reasonably well equipped with swords and armour, I'll encounter my first dragon and SLAY IT in a mighty showdown! With my first taste of blood from a dragon and my first shout obtained, I'll feel power like I've never felt before.

There'll be a nagging sensation in the back of my mind, telling me to seek out more of these beasts and slay them, taking their powers for my own.

From there, who knows? I'll get on with the main quest line, I may even go mad with power, I suppose we'll just see where the game takes me.

...DAMN I've thought this out.

I usually make my characters collectors of something or other. One of them used to try to collect one of every alchemy ingredient in the game. Another tried to collect every named piece of armour or weaponry in the game.

My favourite Morrowind character collected books, and by the time he slew Dagoth Ur he had an enormous, priceless library in his house, filled with books that he had bought, stolen or looted, all of them different.

Quite simply, as I do in all these Bethesda games. I plan to kill every man woman and child I can. Just to see if it's possible.

Morally Ambiguous Argonian Relic Hunter. Enchanted heavy armour, enchanted sword in one hand, spells in the other. He was an Argonian War Spear in Morrowind, master of spears, heavy armour, and a variety of magic. In the age of Oblivion, he was an Argonian Bloodscale, hiding in the shadows and plain sight before unleashing a flurry of blade swinging and fire.

An now, Ironfang The Unstoppable Jesus Lizard will return in...Skyrim!

General goofiness aside, is anyone else kinda hoping someone, somewhere will make a mod that adds Hopesfire and Trueflame to the game? Because dual wielding those would be sweeeeet.

Hopesfire
Trueflame

I will find where the dragons hang out, find a way to communicate with them, and live among the dragons in a dances with wolves kind of way, only without the homeland destruction. And I will join the dragon faction if there is one.
I joined the bandits with a tiny modding tweak in Oblivion. Hopefully it'll work the same way.
