Forget about Battlefront 3

This was inspired by someone saying they've been waiting for Battlefront 3 for 6 years.

People, the studio behind the Battlefront games, Pandemic Studios, are no more, they all got the boot some time ago. As much as I would love a Battlefront 3, I loved the first two games, I have faced the harsh reality that THERE WILL BE NONE. The chance of another studio picking up the series is so slim that it's more likely that Diablo 3 is released before Torchlight 2.

If you're one of those people that say "and where's the discussion value in this topic?" and let me tell you, there are plenty of you, please go elsewhere, this is a public service announcement. But if you do feel like disagreeing with me, by all means, go ahead.

I remember that old footage of Battlefront 3 back when Pandemic still existed. It was amazing. Such a great studio. A real shame they had to close. But never say never. If Duke Nukem Forever managed to get released, there is hope for Battlefront 3. The fanbase is big enough. People like Star Wars and they like online shooters. Someone might pick it up one day. Personally, I'd like DICE to do it since it's basically Battlefield in Star Wars universe.

Then why haven't we seen any more games in the Jedi Knight series? Or Rogue Squadron? The thing is, Pandemic got the boot, and so far, it seems like no studio can be bothered with picking up the series again. George Lucas is mostly involved with the toys anyways.
