I'm telling you, making it about post count only encourages people to write random things down such as "adding content to avoid moderation", which will actually encourage spam rather than discourage it.

This is not a moderation appeals thread, Toasty. This is a forum update feedback thread. If you want to further discuss this issue then do so either in the Moderation Team User Group or with me via PM. As I said as recently as my last post... we have an appeals system. Use it.

No, users who are suspended are not allowed to report. When users make a mistake big enough to get mod wrath, their judgement in reporting likely going to be poor at that time. Not to mention, user who just suffered mod wrath are more likely to spam the button to try and get back at mods.ToastiestZombie said:Will do. Ialso, can suspended people stoll use the report nutton? That the reason you won't let people on suspension is because of spam. Whn you put the report button next to the quote button, which from my short experience causes lots and lots of reports that weren't supposed to be done. Which spans mods. I would change where that is located, then you can complain about spam. Just a point, an was just asking why they couldn't, it's easy to just ask someone else to do it

Think something's gone wrong there as you haven't put anything. I'd edit that if I were you.ToastiestZombie said:ThyNameIsMud said:No, users who are suspended are not allowed to report. Uu, I like that! Though I have nothing against the overall grey, as I find it easier on the eyes. But your version does look "cleaner".Terratina. said:Whatever people think, I just think that there should be should colour added to the boring grey palette.

Hey, thanks for taking the time in doing this, I'll make sure the rest of the design team sees it.Terratina. said:snip
You're welcome and thank you for showing it the rest of the design team. It's no problem at all, taking a screenshot, pasting it into Paint and uploading it using imgur doesn't really take up time. I just want this site to make my eye smile (if that makes any sense.) and I regard myself with having a decent amount of aesthetic sense, so there I went.[/quote]ThyNameIsMud said:-Snip-
Too be fair, forum technology hasn't really changed much in the last 10 to 15ish years. Most changes are directly in relation to taste.Nasrin said:I'd like to address your complaints about the way the forum has changed, but they seem mostly to be a matter of taste.
It's very taxing for us to host what amounts to multiple websites at the same time. Especially with regard to the front page, which is curated by the Editorial Staff. We also create custom artwork for most of our content, so that's double work for artists as well.Draconalis said:Too be fair, forum technology hasn't really changed much in the last 10 to 15ish years. You mention that we can keep the old look "for a time." Is there no way of letting people make their choice permanently? I know many forums that let you choose among many varying lay outs.
I still wish I could go back to the old front page lay out myself, and wish we could change that under our settings as well.
I've actually gotten used to this rather quickly, I can deal with it, if not completely like it.Nasrin said:Snip
Something like this though, I can start to get behind. Maybe change the buttons to be blue as well to make them stand out against the unclickable grey bar.Terratina. said:Snip

You say that when reading you 'tunnel vision on the center' of the page. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but I fail to see this as a problem. These are discussion forums, the emphasis is supposed to be on the text, isn't it?Draconalis said:snip
