Often recreating board accounts immediately after the previous one is banned. They'll also build a persona of themselves trying to convince you they have "lots of babes" "a sweet car" and "a job better than you'll ever have!". Of coarse all this is a lie because someone with those things would have better things to do with their time and wouldn't feel the lack of power in the real world that creates trolls. They'll even go as far to created alternate accounts on boards just so they can make it look as more than one person is trolling you or to make it look as if people agree with the hate that vomits from their mouths. The word "pathetic" just doesn't seem strong enough to convey what kind of sad losers these people are.
Now, the only real way to combat a troll is simply to ignore them thus denying them the power over you they crave. Responding to them only validates them in their own mind. If they can't find anyone to feed them then they move on to more fertile pastures. More loosely monitored boards with people who will fall for their antics. This doesn't really happen much though since for every troll there's a dozen people gullible enough to feed them.
