You know, for a site opposed to gaming they sure are quick to give it publicity. Don't they realize it would be more effective not to draw publicity to it?

Hell, our old friend Mr. Thompson is a prime example. I'd have never known about this 'school shooter' mod for Half-life 2 if the Escapist didn't post the article about JT flipping his rocker over it.
I'm pretty sure they don't honestly care how successful the game is. The only thing that matters to them is the ratings for the show. Give the sheep a drama filled story and they will come.

'Oral Sex is sexist'

...how?
Still trying to think of something witty, but I can't repel stupidity of that magnitude.

QUICK QUICK SOMEONE GIVE A SHIT

Ahem, sorry.

Anyway, this was inevitable. Fox News were always going to latch onto this. Myself, I just see it as a big parody of chauvanism.

EDIT: They seriously censored a stripper's bum? How prudish are they?
Yep, this. It's like people such as Fox only exist now to provide the counter balance to anything good. Until Fox slams and berates it, it won't be any good

Sorry.
No, they report news from a super right perspective. Most of what people complaing about "the left" is actually nothing to do with the left. In America, there is nearly no liberal media, not on a global comparison.

There's nothing new that can be said about this... we're almost at the stage where devs need to mark out a 'Fox News' section in their projected profits.

Thy care about their own publicity more than the game's.

Fox, shut the fuck up. You seem to think games are 100% children toys, when they aren't. This game was NEVER intended for children to even LOOK at.

Plus if this results in people trying to get this game banned, a game we have been waiting for for 12 years, believe me, we will NOT be happy.
I just got this picture in my head, of 5 million people storming Fort Fox...

The new iteration of the game, set for release this spring, takes sexism to a new level -- starting with Duke receiving implied oral sex from twins in school uniforms.
So, just like Goldmember:

Certificate PG-13

Being called Fook Yu and Fook Mi, so no suggestion there either.

Yeah baby, yeah.

But Fox News would never stand for that
oops.

Wow, really? Are you serious? No uber-liberal news media? I know Fox is conservative, I'm not dumb. But to say there's no uber-liberal media just clearly indicates you have no real idea what you're talking about. Or did we forget that NBC pretty much campaigned for Barack Obama 24/7?

Personally I'd like news to be the way it used to be. Unbiased, like Walter Cronkite. He left his opinion at home.
Man, I'm sorry, but in the real world, Barack Obama is central in politics. I know over there you guys think he's extremely left wing and shit, but he's not. Compared to European politics, he's still centre-right (bare in mind that Euro politics are considered the world leaders).

I have to apologise, because it wasn't my place to start a political discussion, especially in this thread, but I felt the need to say something. Fox is famously bad, all over the world it's known for being bad, but protecting it for "not being over liberal" is, well, misplaced.

EDITED-I'm tired, made mistakes

It's Duke Nukem, that's kind of expected.
It's all a big parody of that type of attitude anyway.

Oh, but it's a game, so parody and satire don't apply I guess.

Umm... what's the big deal with the article? Seemed to be a normal news article to me. I wouldn't even go as far as to say they are raising a fuss about it. More along the lines of drawing attention to some questionable content, but they aren't calling for a ban or anything. Heck they even put the ESRB quote up "If you find that sort of thing offensive, simply don't let your kids buy the game."
The blatant disregard for the facts is the problem. But then again, we're used to them doing this.

To fox news:

We're sorry today's best-selling games aren't all some pile of edutainment crock named something like "reading slug learns about god."

Seriously when are people going to realize that the ratings system is doing exactly what its supposed too, you'd be surprised at how many times I've been to multiple different gamestops or best buys after a call of duty game has been recently released and ask the cashier if any under aged person tried to buy the game. They would tell me "Yeah I've had to turn away about 60 kids who thought we wouldn't ask for their i.d's, they were wrong". Duke Nukem is Duke Nukem, and if you aren't old enough to play it, then unless the kids parents are dumbasses and buy it for them, then there's nothing to worry about.

Think of it like this guys. If Fox News doesn't like it, whatever. If they say its really violent, maybe you should buy it. If they say its got sex in it, definitely consider purchasing it. If they say its from hell, fuck yeah buy it. You see? Your whole perception of this is off. Fox News is just advertising for these games. Hell they're prolly getting paid. Don't take anything at face value.
