In a move that should surprise absolutely no one, Fox News has done a segment bashing video games. However, the kicker this time is that they're demonizing, "Green Games". These are games that promote eco-awareness, recycling and less dependence on oil. Which is frankly like trying to paint the person who volunteers at the homeless shelter as a witch.

It gets better, the men then accuse these games of stiring hysteria and "scare-tactics" to push the "liberal agenda". Oh Fox, your hypocrisy never ceases to astound me.

Now I know many will say "Why give them the attention?" But this speaks to me of a "Damned if you do, damned if you don't" dilemma since when we produce violent games we get slammed, then we produce enviromental games we get slammed and frankly I'm getting sick of it. The final slap to the face is when they say these games are "boring" and only 5 year olds play games.

Fox News... I'm not angry anymore. I've long since gotten used to your ramblings. I'm just... disappointed.

This shouldn't really come as a surprise. It seems that every part of the American media has, at some point, complained about video games. Until politicians manage to pass a legislation banning video games (which will never happen btw), I say we can keep enjoying them and ignore the guys in Congress and Parliament who say that they are "destroying the youth of tomorrow".

God forbid anything pushes any agenda to the left of Fox New's "fair and balanced", christian fundamentalist, quasi-fascist ramblings.

Funny how no matter what the game is about Fox news thinks it makes kids killers. Even "Green games" is not okay to them.

I think humans would spontaneously implode if we didn't have at least one group of evil foreigners coming to destroy our way of life and at least one wicked activity corrupting our youth. Just like before terrorists it was communists, facists, the Chinese or whoever else we could blame for our own societal problems, so too before video games and the internet there was roleplaying games, television, rock and roll, blues, the waltz or whatever else we could blame for our own shitty parenting. It isn't new, it isn't interesting, and it only confirms my own conclusion that humans are deeply stupid and we will never, ever change.

That's just something I wanted to type because commenting on the lunacy of Fox News is boring.

I agree.

Also, IT'S FOX NEWS! What else did you expect from them, besides anything that is anti-liberal, anti-educational, anti-environmental.
Anything that could have a positive effect on us or the world, you know they would be against it.

I don't know why I keep watching these. It's the same crap over and over. So very very glad we don't have this rubbish over here. We have 'A Current Affair' and 'Today Tonight' of course, but they seem like the lesser of the two evils.

Fox should just replace the timeslot for Fox News with a documentary on chimps instead. At least we'll be able to view more intelligence going on with that.

This all goes back to the fact that Fox News, and many other media outlets, still assume that videogames are just for kids.

Oh for fucks sake! Here it is, September 7th and you'd think Fox News would be in Day 7 of it's month long NEVER FORGET campaign celebrating the 10 year anniversary of 9/11 (well maybe not celebrating) but they go from Torture Game 2 to Sim fucking City?! Can somebody please invent edible furniture or, jump off of a 5-story building into a vat of cheese or...shit, ANYTHING to get Fox's attention for 5 seconds?

Wait, what? Did I just watch that?

*Facepalm*

The worst part is that this is getting beamed into TVs of people who are none the wiser about videogames, and might even BELIEVE this insanity.

I was happy being ignorant of this, now I'm sad.

Why can't we just let a pack of rabid wolves into fox news offices and lock the doors for a few days or something? No one would miss the news team.
