So what franchises (book, film, game, whatever) do you think got out of hand and should have been stopped ages ago.

I'd say Saw. 7 films, a maze, a ride, eventually 6 games, and an apparent 8th film. Jesus Christ!

Call of Duty

The Dune sequels - after the 2nd they start to get ridiculous

I agree with Saw.

Tony Hawk/Skate games.

Gran Tourismo (what are we at 5?)

That's really all for now.

Hey man, I queued for an hour an a half to ride that rollercoaster and it was worth every damn second! Don't be hating on the wheels.

So, my turn. Let's see.

Well, Final Fantasy is up to what, 13 and a bazillion spin offs? That can go, definitely.

Whilst I don't think it should have stopped,, now we're looking forwards to Bond 23, I think there were a few installments the franchise could well do without.

Also Star Wars, could well have done without those last three movies. They were pretty damned poor.

Tim Hortons not so much in the states but here in Canada its gotten outta hand I feel bad for the other donut franchises trying to keep up usually with better donuts too!

I wish people would stop n think a little more everyone buys big brands and that is literally what is crumbling our economy in the states and Canada but nobody seems to understand that...

this is true, yet 95% of people that are going to buy it will still just buy the new one (even though like you said its the same game with a $55 donation to EA tacked on)

The meaningful part isn't hat you're fighting the pope. It's more you're fighting a powerful Templar.

....Bloodbowl...?

OT: I'm actually struggling to think of any. I don't mind if things get out of hand, if it's good I'll watch/read/play it.

That's not cool now?

Don't get me wrong, I love story, but damn they could've and should've made that fight so much more epic. As it were, it's you conversing with an old man as you punch each other. All it needed was some music.

The chase through the Vatican was brilliantly fun for me.

I wouldn't count Final Fantasy, I consider just about every one separate since the game is tweaked with just about every iteration. Hell even X-2 used a different battle system and even though the story was balls the combat was awesome.

Personally i'd put my vote on the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises. It's hard imagining how fast the genre grew and deflated.

Call of Duty. NO NEED FOR IT!!! IT'S BASICALLY THE SAME GAME EVERY YEAR!
Final Fantasy. Before 13 was released, we were shown two spin-offs and FF14.
I WOULD say Halo, but Bungie cut it last year.
Star Wars, by far. It's been going on for nearly 40 Years NOW!!!
Splinter Cell. Conviction has no actual stealth, just killing from a wall corner, and sometimes not even that.
I WOULD say Madden, but that's not a series, that's the exact same game released every year.

if you really believe this, then you must be glad that Maken X was censored prior release

otherwise you would've been sword-fighting a ninja, nazi pope

hahahah. oh man, you missed out. Really, brotherhood. Play it.

Also, how is fist-fighting the pope who was historically an asshole IRL(though not to the extent of AC, of course) *not* awesome?

there won't be an 8th film, due to the decline in box office sales the plot that was going to be in 8 was included into 7 to wrap it up early. either way, 7 films was unnecessary. 1-3 were great, 4 and 5 were OK, 6 was great and 7 was good but still think it should have been left as a trilogy.

i'm also going to go with Pokemon. there are 646 pokemon...ENOUGH ALREADY!
