Well as the moment I'd have to go with Bioware... I can't think of a game they made that was absolutely shit. Dragon Age and a few flaws here and there but was still an excellent game. The Mass Effect games are brilliant. KOTOR was a brilliant game which I've completed countless times and still play to this day. Then there's the Balders Gate series and Neverwinter night's which have all been good. I think there weakest game was Jade Empire and I still thought that was brilliant but flawed... Could have been much, much better with a deeper combat system but was still good.

Mass Effect. From the moment it entered my tray (lol?) until the end of time, I will love and submerge myself in all things Mass Effect (unless tainted by the iPhone/iPad/i*). I just finished playthrough 4 of ME2 and now I'm done I feel empty and dead inside.

To a lesser extent: Halo. It does a good job of spinning a yarn and enveloping you in its universe. Unfortunately it does feel a little like child's play when compared to the narrative of Mass Effect.

The Wire. Not that I need to defend it because as it might say: "My name is my NAME!"... I don't think it has too many detractors.

I tend to defend warcraft, and halo, and I defended Modern Warfare 2 when people were crying over the airport level (which I found to be the most colourful level).

Silent Hill. This has been increasingly hard for reasons that I'm sure you've all heard 8 bajillion times and have also probably heard from Yahtzee as well but I still have a fondness for the series regardless and whenever some mentions the movie or 0rigins or Homecoming I'll either go back to the previous entries or I'll use the silver linings of those games as defense and mumble the rest away. Maybe it's because there hasn't been a single other good horror franchise in video games ever. I don't really regard Resident Evil as horror and really its always come off as a comedy to me, and while I do like Resident Evil I still stand by my statement that Silent Hill is the only video game horror franchise to have ever worked as horror at all.

Oh, and Doom. To be fair Doom doesn't need to be defended seeing as its extremely important to the industry as a whole and even haters can't deny the impact it had (For better or for worse, seeing as how shitty most shooters are) but I love this game so much that my inner nerd starves to death without participating in the online Doom community which is surprisingly large and thriving and he will also starve to death if I don't feed him new .wad files to sample.

Then there's Fallout. I love classic Computer RPGs, its a shame they had to go and die when the scourge of J-RPGs showed its face. So Fallout 1 & 2 rank high up on my favourite games list because they're one of the few classic style RPGs post Final Fantasy to stand up on their own, and while I sort of want to be a No Mutant's Allowed biased dickhead to Fallout 3 and say Bethesda butchered the series, I would be a big fat hypocrite because I really liked FO3 and you bet I'm drooling over New Vegas right now, especially since some of the original devs are on board giving me hope that it might actually bring back the dark humour and make the RPG system a bit deeper than the watered down Bethesda version.

Runescape/ JaGeX.

Everyone seems to think that Runescape is for fags and nerds, but I for one don't think so.

Whenever someone says how gay RS is I just say 'fuck you' and rant about why it is awesome.

I don't really play it anymore but when I was addicted it was the second best thing to sex (the reason why I don't play it anymore Ha, Ha.)
wouldnt play it anymore but i at least think its better then WoW due to the fact theres more variation in the quests then go there kill that thing then maybe you might get the item you are looking for

I'll defend Shin Megami Tensei to the death. It's the one series that hasn't had a game that's bad. The storylines and setting of each game are unique, deep and dark which you don't find in many RPGs at all. The majority of those that insult the series have usually never played a game and judge on appearances only.

Actually I believe there was a Sega SMT game called "Ronde" which was part of the "Majin Tensi" spin off series that was retleased for the Sega Saturn that was almost universally panned if I remember. I also believe this is why it took so long for them to make another attempt at SMT Market penetration (though I'm glad they did).

Hmm I'd have to go with the Elder Scrolls series and perhaps the Kingdom Hearts series.

Not really any, but if I had to choose, I would probably say most of the Valve franchises and Banjo Kazooie.

The Mario RPG would be my other one, as long as you don't count Super Paper Mario. The rest of the games where all fantastic.
Tell me, how did Super Paper Mario not stand up to the rest of them? I thought it was a superb game.

Kingdom Hearts.
WoW.
and...
wow this really showed me thats i own about 50 games and only enjoyed 2. anyway people will say Kingdom hearts is stupid b/c of Disney characters SHUT UP ITS AMAZING
and WoW b/c "only people with no life play that" STFU ITS MY MAIN CURE FOR BOREDOM. just b/c i play doesnt mean my life and friends i had before just go away. i still talk to friends AND go outside
Well, I would say Tomb Raider Civilization and WoW, but despite the good memories and my avatar, over the last year wow became all of a sudden awfully boring. I tried to go back to it over the last month and I can't play for more then 3 minutes without logging off and thinking: "wtf brought me to this game in first place?!". Then I realise: "Oh yeah, I didn't have a life, now I have one so that's probably why."

Not sure about forever, but I really like all the Blizzard series of games, liked em since I was little. Let's hope Activision doesn't rock the boat as much as we all fear...
