I knew this game as "Twinsen's Odyssey," and it was a good one. The controls are thing thing I remember the most: clunky and unusual but effective in this game's context. Keyboard controls only - gamepads need not apply, which was unusual for games during that era. My recollection is that almost all games worked with gamepads even then. Good game though. I remember it having a pretty compelling story compared to some others. In fact, I pretty clearly remember spending a good portion of my junior year of college playing Twinsen and the first and second Tomb Raider on PC.
I actually still have Twinsen's Odyssey and tried to fire up the CD some time back, but was not successful in getting it to work on my Windows XP PC. I will admit I'm not the most sophisticated at the emu kind of thing anyway.
Good review and thanks for taking me back a little today.
