Well after what just happened to me I felt the urge to find out about others' experiences (If you want to share)...So here's a topic on stuff that happened in your life that was extremely unlikely or just totally improbable...

My accident was so absurd no one (even the four doctors and countless nurses I've talked to) can figure out why it happened...Here I am playing a game running on a bit of cement about 6 inches above another sidewalk...I small hop off it down to the lower sidewalk and just felt a pain in my left leg...I staggered for a bit and laid down unable to move my leg at all (except for my foot)...

Turns out that when I landed, I landed just right as to SNAP MY FEMUR IN HALF...It was a clean break all the way through...A 6 inch jump is now making me spend 3-4 months of recovery time and missing about a month of college (right before finals too)...

So that's my story...Anyone else want to share?

I was 7-8 ish, and managed to lose four pints of blood through my head.

Doctors don't know how they managed to keep me alive. I'm a stubborn git, that's my reasoning.

...

Are they sure you don't have cancer, or some sort of malnutrition?

Femurs don't just break. You may want to get a second opinion.

I've broken my finger.

I have absolutely no idea when this happened, where, what I did, or why. But there it is, it's broken (well, between a fracture and a clean break so - cracked?).

When I was a little kid I managed to fall *up* an entire flight of stairs, needed stitches in my chin and I still have the scar or I wouldn't even believe it happened, myself.

When gravity itself is out to get you... well you become an aerospace engineer later in life and make gravity your ***** >.>

Slipped on an icy sidewalk, the way I landed had a leg sticking out towards the street whereupon it was run over by a bicycle, snapping it. About 4 months in a cast during which I got the chicken pox.

Alright I have several that were freak accidents, once when I was three happened to turn my back when playing baseball with the brothers to shoo the dog away. WELL! They didn't see the dog was there, and CRACK! Metal baseball bat shattered my skull, course I lived. Year following that, was going up the escalators (don't remember the incident, only what the doctor report said.) I tripped down the escalator, and once more shattered my skull. Then of course about sixteen years later my horse crushes my arm. Two seconds prior it would have been my head, I can deal with memory loss, but don't think to a 1,500lbs horse I stood a chance lol.

Was that Homer Simpson? I know he mentioned the loss of consciousness to a doctor / therapist et cetera in one episode / movie. It was a while back.

OP: I cracked my wrist when my brother and cousin both tackled me, I went down slowly and not hard, they were light, but I obviously landed things just right to give myself a painful crack. My parents didn't want to leave so they made a cast themselves with some bandages they kept in the car :( That was a painful day.

Elevator door closed over the front of my right foot. I blame that for clumsiness.

Aha, yeah, it was pretty nasty. I walked home too. You could literally follow the blood from my house to where it happened. There was a massive puddle of it on my door.

Or at least, that's what I was told. That night and the couple weeks after are a little hazy :L

How did you even do it in the first place?

I walked into a building literally the second it was hit by a mortar when I was 12.

I don't know if that counts as an "accident" but it was my worst injury induced by bad luck.

When I was young, like 3 or 4, I got my head stuck in a potty and had to have surgery to get it removed.

We call it pikey baseball. Pretty much, I had a two by four, he had rocks. I missed with the bat and not with my head.
