For those who don't live in the UK, this Thursday is a wonderful time as exam results are coming out in order to determine if students who done their A levels can get into university, now I didn't do so good in my Technology exam, but i'm praying it will balance out with my coursework and bring my Technology grade to a C. But i need help in order to calm down as I'm shitting myself, so any tips in order get my mind off exam results for a bit so i can be prepared for what awaits me on Thursday

Try to not remind yourself that you actually have the results coming. You had a technology exam? How about you try to not interact with any form of technology before the time comes, that might help.

Have a pint with some friends! Always works for me.

Or you could go to the movies, basically do anything that can keep your mind busy.

Everything is fine. The worst that can possibly happen is death, and death is merely total obliteration. That's not bad, that's just neutral, it's nonexistence.

The worst that can possibly happen is neutral/not actually bad: Everything else is better. Life is good. Why stress?

No matter what you cannot change the out come now, so why worry about what cannot be changed?

Also, game! Nothing takes you to a far off land to lose yourself in, like games do.

Captcha: ear candy ... Hehehe

Night before I got my A-Levels I had a friend stay over and we just hung out and played video games and stuff. Took our mind off things. Try that :D

It helps to remember that exams mean nothing in the grand scheme of things - if you learnt the knowledge in those classes, that'll stick with you for a long time, and even if you didn't you probably got life experience out of it. The only downside to not caring about exams is that it tends to have a bad effect on actually studying for them next time round.

Just play a few games or go out for walks or something, whatever you usually do. It'll be here sooner than you think.

I've decided that 'Hey, What's done is done, so no deal worrying'. So now I'm naked, in bed, ice cream and watching random youtube videos.

Oh, Spoony, you're so funny.

Ahh the memories, I remember bricking it when i was waiting for my A-Level results too. The best thing to do[footnote]With hindsight[/footnote] is to realize that worrying about it is not going to do shit, the time for worrying has passed, ended the minute that you finished the exam. After that it's out of your hands.

Even if the worst happens then do a resit and apply again to uni next year. If they are considering you now then there's a fair chance that they will next year too[footnote]You'll actually have it slightly easier in first year as you will have a firm knowledge of the basics which makes the new thing easier to understand[/footnote]. So it's not the end of the world.

Apply with some friends in a pub setting for best results

Ever heard of the phrase "worse than death"?

Let me just leave this here

OT: For some reason I am not nervous at all. It may be because I'm almost at 24 hours awake, or because I had to resit my first year and after 3 years (and being pretty sure I did the best I could) I'm just ready to be told whether I have a future or not. Not sure what I'm gonna do if I fail, but I'm still ready to find out.

I realise this doesn't really help YOU per se, but it does help me. And maybe the face that your thread allowed me to feel better about myself will make you feel good too. Or not.

[small] If all else fails, just click the TV Tropes link and lose your nerves (and a good chunk of your day) [/small]

For a start: breathing's good. Aside from that, try and stay busy. The worst thing you can do is sit around doing nothing, partly for the fact that you'll be bored to tears and also you'll start dwelling on the fact your results are coming up.

The best way to think of it I've found is that you've done it, whatever's done is done. You can't change what results you've got, if you didn't do as well as you wanted then oh well that's a shame. If you've done well, brilliant!
