Free alternative to Photoshop?

EDIT: GIMP slows down my computer (i tried it last week). something other than that, please.

If your computer can't run GIMP then you're a bit boned - I'm not sure there's much beyond paint.net in between it and paint, lol. Might I suggest getting a stick of RAM or two?

actually ive tried GIMP and it's been giving me problems...
it seems to slow my computer down a lot.

What's your OS/system specs, if u don't mind? You are using the win32 GIMP?
