If I can find a place that does this, I may take advantage of it. Despite how much I love Marvel, and know a lot of info...I never actually read many comics.

Green Lanter, though I doubt I needed to tell you that. Honestly I don't read enough comics to provide an informed opinion, but I have found the Hulk's latest adventures to be pretty interesting along with the whole Superman leaving America thing.

For some reason I've always been obsessive with Captain America comics. A bit of an obscure superhero but I loved those.

Alternative: Get a subscription on Marvels Digital Comics.
The reader is a tad slow (compared to viewers used to view pirated comics) but the quality is good, and the library is starting to get quite big.

Now if they could make all of this a bit more easy to navigate and faster they would have an excellent system

There's some really good Green Lantern stuff, like the Sinestro Corps Wars, in TPB, as well as some of the older Superman stories, I particularly like Superman: Sacrifice. Also, if you liked Kingdom Come, and if you haven't read Identity Crisis, then you should check that out because its crazy good.

EDIT: And if you want to go old school, the run of Swamp Thing written by Alan Moore (of Watchmen fame) is fantastic. It's this crazy frequently hallucinogenic story about a man who becomes a plant (or so it seems at least) and while it's kind of old, it's so far ahead of its time that it's still one of those mostly unknown gems.

I think Identity Crisis is better than Kingdom Come.

OT:One of the store local owners actually has a celebration on Free Comic Book Day. Dunk Tank, raffles, all kinds of fun stuff. I have plans to go, even if I have to scam half a day off work. If anybody has a local comic book store, go check it out.

Store locator included.

You need to fix your OP, OP.

OT: If you come across a graphic novel called 'Enigma', buy it. It still counts as one of the weirdest things I've read in my life, and I've read some weird things..

Also, pick up a copy of V For Vendetta, because it's a masterpiece. Avoid anything by Frank Miller.

A quick spell-check and the use of capital letters =].

V For Vendetta is..difficult to explain. Essentially, it's about an anarchist terrorist dismantling a Fascist state in a dystopian version of Great Britain. You could take a look at a trailer for the film to get a rough idea, but be aware that the book is quite different.

I gotta say the "Free comics" aren't whatever you want them to be. They are select comic books made for the day. To answer your question about TPB though: Deadpool Classic tends to be a good read. That's all that really comes to mind right now because I buy all my stuff on a weekly basis for the last 4-5 years. Oh oh and Hack/Slash is awesome, there are at least 3 Omnibuses out there. HUGE TPB. Like 20+ issues each.

Oh crap I almost forgot to mention this to my comic book mate (he probably already aware of this). Thanks for reminding me.
As for the OP I suggest maybe getting those "Year One" books like on the Green Lantern. Those are a grest insight on the character origins.

Yeah I meant the origin story (I just double check and I think I was referring to the Secret Origin Green Lantern comic book). I can't really say about the Batman Year One but my mate (who is into comic book more than me) had been wanting to buy it so I assume it must be good.
Thinking about my mate, he told that the Batman and Robin TBP comic is great (the newest one were Dick Greyson is take up the Batman mantle).
