I made a note of this issue in the first post. Sorry to hear you were having trouble man.Fat Man Spoon said:Grr...
All that time and its not compatible with Vista...
Edit: At least, for me. You guys try it anyways.
It only took me a few minutes the other day, but I got in as soon as it was announced, maybe there's a lot of people grabbing it.Fat Man Spoon said:Oh man, I loved Red Alert on the PS1.
Now I can play it again! AHAHAHAHAHA!
But this 2 hour download time worries me...
Edit: WTF? 5 hours now?!
I'm on vista and it works fine, although mines prof not home. Would that affect it? They did have a link to a patch that helps though.Jhereg42 said:I made a note of this issue in the first post. Sorry to hear you were having trouble man.Fat Man Spoon said:Grr...

Have any other Vista users had any luck?
Not sure personally. I'm running things on XP at the moment and they run just fine. Somebody further up in the thread was having trouble though. Hopefully they found the link to the patch.chozo_hybrid said:I'm on vista and it works fine, although mines prof not home. Would that affect it? They did have a link to a patch that helps though.

Ohhhh yea I have played star craft. I dont think there is an RTS out there I havnt dabbled in. And yes I am awful at Starcraft too. I much prefer slower paced ones that let me think things out and use tactics. Regardless I am very much enjoying these old CnC. One of those games I know everyone has played yet I havnt yet so it has been a fun experiance.CincoDeMayo said:Have you played Starcraft? I can assure you that it beats the living crap out of C&C as far as the progress stress goes!syndicated44 said:I dislike CnC's approach to RTS. It was never one of those games that you could take slowly, you had to constantly be doing something or you fall behind and 2 minutes later rushed by hundreds of everything. Then again I am just kinda bad at it..
Yeah, that patch is awesome, seeing a third of a huge map in one screen is great.Threesan said:Those of you doing C&C (Gold, presumably): there's an unofficial patch [http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/] that you might want to get that fixes some bugs, and lets you run it in high resolution.
So what do you play? Civilization? Fire Emblem? I'm curios, I could use a slower paced one for when I'm in that mood.syndicated44 said:Ohhhh yea I have played star craft. I still suck at it...
Lately for RTS I have been playing Supreme Commander. Which is also a pretty good example of the pace I like. I do occasionally have a long session of Total War. Older RTS probably Homeworld series (mostly HW2 because I have a hell of a time getting the first two to work). Hmm those are probably mostly my favorites.chozo_hybrid said:So what do you play?
