I'm doing a PC Playthroughs channel on YouTube but my awesome computer broke down shortly after starting it and I'm forced to use a laptop. I want to keep doing games but the laptop is not built for gaming so I can only play old games with horrible graphics.

Can anyone recommend some old, free PC games I could download?

GTA and GTA 2 have been freeware for some while now, if I remember right.

Iji. Do yourself a favour and play Iji [http://www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php]. Or The Spirit Engine 2 [http://www.frostclick.com/wp/index.php/2010/11/03/the-spirit-engine-2-near-perfect-rpg-game/].

Failing that, you can always play roguelikes.

Is doom freeware?
I know that there was someone who made a copy of doom in shockwave? maybe flash, whatever, but I think it was fairly well done.

I think it can be found on newgrounds.

If you're looking for free PC games try browsing the archives here:

Or here:

There's loads of good stuff out there.

While not free DEFCON is cheap, and can run on most PCs.

I just downloaded a free Space Sim "Orbiter". Sweet mercy is it tough. I've been reading some tutorials. God god it's like revising for an exam on Orbital Mechanics.

Most of them aren't free, but they are cheap and they are (mostly) old. Stuff like Painkiller is relatively new, ancient in the PC world but still not FF1 or anything like that. Planescape: Torment is on there though. Might and Magic 1. If your computer can't run this stuff, it can't run anything. :p

If it's anything like mine, Halo Custom Edition works really well, most of the games on http://freemmogamer.com/ work on my laptop.
