Oh hatred...it's being misused all over this topic (the actual definition) but I'll play along anyway.
This is more of a list of pet-peeves.

-Anyone who directly EQUATES Piracy to Arbitrage (Used Game Sales, in layman's terms).
This has become something of a perennial topic, and a massive failure in critical thinking on this website. They are not one in the same. Math (no, not statistics; simple Algebra) disproves this; economics disproves this. It started as two topics, then at some point, it became a false equation due to inflammatory argumentation and forum drum-beating (it's most easy to dismiss/overlook logic and facts when you're angry).

-Professing the "superiority" of anime as an absolute. (I really tire of this)
Animation (which anime falls under) isn't special or unique in its market distribution; there are relatively few quality works compared to the many works of mass-market trash. It happens in music, it happens in movies/tv; animation is no different. Please stop assuming that because it comes from Japan, that it's automatically better.
In a related pet peeve of mine...
\-Arguing that anime's style is objectively "superior" to classic/traditional animation is equally retarded; there are always measurable tradeoffs in production, the most basic being trading Detail for Animation and vice versa (assuming an equal amount of effort/time/money goes into either).

-People claiming to have a higher degree of authority based on (often unprovable) credentials, and using that as evidence for their argument. This is a more recent trend I've been noticing, and a mistake I used to commit.
It's fine to admit what your profession or field of interest is, but never presume that it gives you authority on a subject.
Remember, even a terrible doctor can have a PHD.

-Pop-music
A product that:
1) Is designed by suits in a lab to be as irritating (and thus, catchy) as it can possibly be, so the masses remember it.
2) Performed by hired "artists" who lack any real talent, but make up for it by acting like assholes
3) ...Who end up getting Autotuned to shit and back in post anyway because they suck so bad, and have no real connection with the music/vocals they're performing.

And I could forgive all of that if it wasn't for one little detail:
It's pop-music. Which means it'll be played FUCKING EVERYWHERE, and it'll be played over and over again.

Hypothetically, you can take your favorite, greatest, most awesome/beautiful music ever, and overplay it to the point where you would need brain damage to still enjoy it.
Take that, and apply it to a song that by default, sounds like it was intentionally made to be agitating as shit to listen to (and it often is; for the sake of being catchy).
This results in something that ceases to be music, but instead becomes a nightmare scene out of A Clockwork Orange.

That is how fucking AWFUL today's pop-music is. I'm depressed that THIS is the drivel my generation will be remembered for; that this will one day be representative of the culture we lived in and left behind. My parents will have The Beetles and Elvis. Mine will have Ke$ha, Chris Brown, and represent our love for dime-a-dozen party clubs and slums.

Three things bugging me right now:

1) People hating on horror movie remakes.
I understand the complaint, but I only understand it if you were a fan of the original back when it was original. You get nothing from me if you saw the original a week before you saw the remake then decided to tramp around complaining "oh my god you guys, they totally ruined that classic!".

Also, I don't have much agreement with hating them in general. I am a firm believer that movies need to judged on their own merits. By that credit... back the fuck off! Particularly off of the Nightmare on Elm Street remake. I like that movie. I am a big fan of the original, but I can suspend that part of my brain and watch the film for... you know, the actual film! Not constantly picking it apart with how it compares to the original. Back to Nightmare on Elm Street again, and I am going to take some shit for this: I think new Freddie is just as good as old Freddie. They pull of being menacing in very different ways (old Freddie is out-and-out aggressive and vicious, new Freddie is just creepy and sinister) and Jackie Earle Haley plays that role to the hilt and it is really awesome.

Plus, any film that gives me Kyle Gallner in a speedo is just aces in my book.

2) People who judge all anime the same (usually as crap too)
Since when did we judge everything that has a similar art style together in one huge group? "Anime" isn't just one show you know. It has it's ups and downs, like any kind of style. For example, Naruto is steaming horse-shit while Yu-Gi-Oh is kick arse. Judging every anime show/movie as one thing is bullshit.

This point mostly inspired by my brother who apparently lets racism do his judgement for him. It's a cartoon from Japan? That makes it shit, because Anime is shit!

I just don't get it. I don't judge all films as if they're one and the same, so why can people get away with just denouncing anything anime as shit? Especially since most people who do this have never actually seen it. Or if they have, they saw one anime show years ago and it wasn't to their liking, so that renders all anime ever made terrible.

3) Me watching cartoons primarily aimed at kids does not make me a freak
Did I miss the memo where nobody is allowed to enjoy nostalgia any more? More importantly, has anyone alerted Doug Walker of this development?

Okay, so I'll say this: I am currently watching through the entirety of Yu-Gi-O. It started off as being nostalgia, but it is actually still an incredibly good show. Yet when people learn of me watching it, it apparently makes me a weird person.

I'm sorry, but if you can find me some legitimate criticism for me watching people fight with holographic monsters in a strategic game, then I will gladly hear it. I really will. But just "it's for kids" is not a valid argument. Especially since a lot of cartoons primarily aimed at kids have a large adult audience because they carry over very well to adult audience. Fuck, just look at the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic craze and you'll see that.

Besides, nobody can argue that an ancient Pharoah losing his shit and going power-mad with evil magic to the point where it costs him his best friend's soal is childish. That shit is hard-hitting man, it's heavy.

If the story lines weren't played through a card game, I doubt anyone would have a problem with it. Seriously:

Season 1: Boy with ancient Pharoah's spirit within him brought to island to fight in a tournament to free his grandfather from an evil dude who can steal souls and read minds with ancient magic? Awesome!
Season 2+3: Boy and Pharoah fight through another tournament to harness power of ancient Gods and defeat a psychopath who wants personal revenge on Pharoah, as well as to absorb his power and that of the Gods to rule the world? Awesome
Season 4: Boy and Pharoah fight using power of ancient Dragons to stop evil villain from stealing his soul to power the Great Leviathan, which would destroy the world? Awesome!

Seriously, the storylines are cool as hell. People's only problem with it is that it involves a card game and is dubbed by 4Kids.

i have something i REALLY want to get off my chest.

y'know the painfully mind**** inducing, sickening, dispicable, utterly deplorable MLP fanfic cupcakes? (DO NOT SEARCH FOR IT! DON'T BE TEMPTED!)

not only does the writer need to see a doctor for thinking such filth is a good thing. but PEOPLE DO NOT WANT ME TO FORGET IT. there's ask the main charector over tumblr,

various branching fictions

"art" (or gory pictures of people being tortured and killed)

but there's also people making jokes about it, jokes!!. last time i checked, FICTION ABOUT PEOPLE BEING BUTCHERED IS NOT A GOOD THING D:<

but it doesn't end there, oh no! they've added an entire world to this *choke* scum, this is why i have such little faith in the world! will you ever learn to realize that slash fics are the dream-ups of insane scumbags!

i had nightmares so bad i was nauseas! it should forgotten, destroyed and the people institutionalized!
