Well I'm off to Uni the start of next week for the booze and party-fest that is freshers week. At least that's what I'm anticipating and hoping for. Also the chance to meet a lot of new people and really get settled into living at a financial standard just above that of the homeless. Hopefully I will not be disappointed as I'm thinking of this as a kind of last hurrah before I start to get some serious work done.

So who else among us is going to Uni? (or college if you're in the USA)

And any graduates out there, what can I/we expect this first week and any good stories you got?

Freshers week is pretty intense

If you'll take some advice from a veteran (this is my third freshers week now) then find an excuse to go out with people from your halls or your course every night. No matter how tired or ill or manky you feel just go out and meet ppl.

Also in the freshers fair (if you have one) you will pick up so much random free shit, seriously, I got frisbees for free, free I tells ya!!!

What uni are ya at?

Also dont worry about this being your last bit of fun before you start work. The first two years of uni are the most alcoholic years of your life!

Freshers week is pretty intense. I remember the first night of college we left the focus meeting (Sort of an orientation type thing my school did to help you get to know the other people in your dorm) and somehow ended up at a frat party. This was before classes even started. Needless to say I don't remember much of that night. Or much of that week for that matter...

I'm in year two of college now, though technically still a freshman, and at a different college.

College around here started, about a month ago.
Maybe the Freshmen start later, is that the case?
different countries start at different times, around here it was 2 weeks ago, after labour day

that and we call them frosh up here, oh how i miss the times when frosh were all 19 or so and the plastic princesses would walk into the goth/metal bar on a friday night after hearing the thumping music. the look of horror on their innocent faces was so sweet

I started Febuarary this year, my university in the midst of changing to a "Trimester" model where summer school is the same length as the normal semesters, but I'm going to join the 90% of my fellow students and the teaching staff, and just relax/party the extra academic period

Freshers week last year was awesome. Drinking, parties, remote control cars and bubbles. Very memorable.

I live at a commuter campus, so the first week isn't all that special unless you live in residence. Fortunately, I live in residence.

In Canada (or Quebec at least), we have Frosh Week. Essentially an excuse to drink yourself out of your mind for 7 days. I was supposed to talk to a friend participating in said week on a Wednesday and he only checked his voicemail about it on the following Sunday. Apparently the phone was too much for him then.

A few of my friends started uni this year but I'm stuck where I am because it's a 3 year course. Any who I went to a mates uni for freshers week. I don't think I've ever been that drunk before in my life. Just make sure your pictures don't appear on any social networking sites.

Yea I've just come to the end of my Freshers week - everyones just basically been downing serious amounts of whiskey. How about getting the most drunk ever whilst also having a bloody horrible headachey cold with hacking cough.
hopefully the room should stop spinning when I start tomorrow...

I'm doing a kind of computer science for games programming thing.

I hope to go to one at one point in the near future, what to study is uncertain.
Possibly maths and/or a science.
