Personally I'd probably give that a 7 0r an 8. I highly prefer the first Sonic Adventure over its sequel, and of course this just isn't *my* list. There are games here I've never played, so I can't relate to all of it. But for the most part, these are games I like as well.

I think if your truly going after best games of all time it doesn't matter if they are old are new. You have to really avoid the nostalgia glasses. You can't just say all the old games are the best. Great games are created all the time and having an unbias view of new or old games is the only way to really route out what is the best game. If they happen to come from a certain generation, or mostly from later generation there is nothing wrong with that.
At what point did I say that new games are bad or are undeserving of a place on this list? I'm simply saying it has too many newer games, and far too few established classics. Just to throw a dozen or so out there that are much better than several things on his list:

Final Fantasy 3/6
Metal Gear Solid
Fallout 2
Tetris
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Deus Ex
Starcraft/Warcraft series
Worm: Armageddon/World Party
Star Wars: Dark Forces series
Star Wars: KOTOR
Dragon Warrior III
Tales of Phantasia

And there are plenty more.

I know you didn't say they were bad but if in his mind that there truly were no more classics that were deserving of his top 10, then it shouldn't matter. It just sounds like your kind of putting a rule in place they're must be at least x amount of classics for it to even be considered a realistic list. Also. Yes tetris was awesome and revolutionary but I don't know if I could put it in a top 10 list XP. For the time I guess but... ya..

Well, I don't agree with most of your choices but as others said, your list is your list. Rock on with it.
However, I do commend you for recognizing that LttP was a better game than OoT. As great as OoT was, it did not have as many options nor exploration as LttP. It was a bigger world with more to do, but it was far more linear than they'd like you to believe. /cheers

Imagine a list of the best movies of all time. Let's say they include Citizen Kane, but all of the other films are from the last 10 years. Wouldn't you find something off about that list?

Pokemon Red and Blue - Good, but I still think Gold/Silver (then HG/SS) improved on them.
The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time - Never played a Zelda game. (-1)
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle - Never cared for Sonic (-1)
Limbo - Looks pretty interesting, but debating on whether to get it on PC or PS3 now to actually try it.
Tales of Symphonia - Dunno what this is (-1)
Halo 3 and Halo Trilogy - Honestly, probably the most overrated series of all time. At least with Call of Duty, they were good up until MW2 came out. (-1)
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Again, never played (-1)
Alan Wake - Never played (-1)
Pikmin 2 - Never played (-1)
Super Smash Bros Melee - Probably the best of the three, could have been way better if adventure mode had a bit of randomness to it and different directions.

Considering I've never played (and have no interest to play) most of them, I'd rate it a 3. But that is just my preference in games.

So I have to rate your ratings?
Huh. Okay.
Will you then rate my rating of your ratings? Then I could rate your rating of my rating of your ratings.
I'm dead serious.
I'm giving it a 6, by the way.

I see no reason to rate your opinions--seems rather silly if you ask me, because of the horribly overused idiom "to each his own."

Anyway, I do disagree with most of the games you mentioned that I've actually played, i.e. SSBM and Halo 3 (OoT and Red/Blue are fantastic choices, even though I prefer Crystal over all the others.) IMO, Halo is still the best of the franchise in terms of story and how it meshed the the game. Halo Reach, though, has the absolute best combat I've seen in an FPS.

Personally, I wouldn't list a fighting game as my #1, though SSB would definitely be somewhere on my list. To me, there are better story-driven options that could take its place--for comparison, my #1 is Mass Effect 2 by a landslide.

2, i agree that pokemon red/blue were good, all the rest i would put in the top 10 ever (with the only exception of limbo, due to the fact that i have never played it and heard good things about it)

Not gonna rate them, but as someone who has played the Pokemon series since the original red/blue, I can say that those games have not aged well at all. Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen are far superior to those.

And even though nobody asked, I'll list my top 10 favourite games to show that you really shouldn't care what people think, because believe me, I get a LOT of confused looks and snarky comments when I tell people my top 10 favourite games.

#10: Prinny Can I Really Be the Hero? (PSP)
#9: Touch Detective (DS)
#8: Super Mario Sunshine (GCN)
#7: Golden Sun (GBA)
#6: Luigi's Mansion (GCN)
#5: Drill Dozer (GBA)
#4: Donkey Kong Country (SNES)
#3: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (SNES)
#2: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GBC)
#1: Kirby Super Star (SNES)

As you can probably guess, nobody agrees with anything on this list, and I don't particularity care, and neither should you. Just enjoy the games you like.

I would give you a 8.4 out of 10. I love pretty much all those games with the exception Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Nice touch with the Alan Wake and Pikmin 2, I found those games way too underrated.

No Devil May Cry 3?

No God of War?

No Shadow of the Colossus?

No Megaten games?

.....Interesting.
Yes, interesting that not everyone in the world has the same opinion as you. Very interesting.

Honestly, everyone has their own opinion, and while I disagree with pretty much every game on this list - Among them, I've never gotten into the Halo games, and always found Alan Wake to be a spectical of wasted potential - The fact is, I do respect your opinion, as long as you respect mine. Nobody can tell you what games you like or dislike.

The OP asked that we rate his opinions. And I'm sick and tired of all this postmodernist "you can't judge someone else's opinions" nonsense. I can, and do, judge what other people think, and there's nothing wrong with that. And you're all free to do the same to me. If a person put E.T. for the Atari down as the best game ever, and he wasn't being sarcastic, I know that none of us would hesitate to think that person was wrong. Yet we "can't judge other people's opinions" so we'd all be too pussy to say so.

Fucking hell dude relax. At what point did you see me giving the OP grief or anything like that? I found his list interesting because (a)The games I mentioned ones that you're gonna see on a "Top 10 favourites list" more often than not and (b) Because he mentioned Sonic Adventure 2(Fuckin A!!!)
