While waiting for unskippable live to fix itself, i decided to make a thread, so hear goes. Final bosses and endings for games get a lot of credit. But what about where all these games started? what are you favorite first/tutorial levels that you thought were great. I think that Kingdom Hearts and FFX had really epic ones, and Prince of Persia SoT had a great beginning that really set the tone and gave you a feel for the rest of the game.

The sheer scale of Uncharted 2's beginning sold me immediately. And I'm sure that I'm not the only one who greatly appreciated the cool opening of Fallout 3 inside Vault 101. inFamous also comes to mind by throwing you right into the destruction that takes place and making you aware of the fact that you're going to have to deal with the aftermath of what just happened.

This may seem an odd one but for me it is Call of Duty 3.

After some pretty standard target practice and an unfortunate Truck 'crash'. You are plunged straight into one of the bloodiest battles in WW2. Seeing the pure scale and drama of a mass charge of US soldiers up the hill towards the German church was just Spectacular.

Shame the rest of the game was shit............

Oblivion had a good introduction, at the time I was all "look at teh pretties" when I left the sewer. Now, not so much and more like "eugh, the fuck is that". Still, good introduction. Bioshock and Half-Life(2) had good intros also.

COD MW (4) had the opening with the fuel tanker in the bearing sea that sinks after you find a nuke on it, that was a good intro.
