We all get frustrated and angry sometimes, and we all need to ventilate it to remain sane and healthy. So tell me, Escapist, what do you think is the greatest catharsis? Is it hitting someone with a chair? Eating lots of chocolate? Smashing your head in the wall?

I just managed to get rid of one of my most angry mind tantrums by putting on my sound isolating headphones, turn up the volume to near ear-exploding volume, and turn on Slipknot's album. Listening to Corey Taylor scream "I'M SIIIIIIICK!" and "Liberate my madness!" has never left me so calm and relaxed.

Making irrelevant comments on the internet.
Seriously though, I listen to music. Some fairly mellow stuff, no rock or R&B.

There are several ways:
Break stuff
Be evil in Fable
Touch yourself
And getting laid

Only one of which I follow.

Working out in any way, shape or form is generally considered a good way to get rid of frustration. Also petting a soft animal for some reason is calming. I hear that "doing the dirty deed" is a good way as well.

Nothing, to be honest. I just end up absorbing it all.

Something tells me this is wrong though.

Jogging. A nice, long jog in the forest with music blasting in my ears. And then sauna and a shower.

Cuddling my Guinea Pig, using my punching bag, sparring with my friend, or what I usually do, which is direct it all into attempting to develop venom glands so that I have a physical venomous tongue, not just a metaphorical one.

I like listening to loud, angry music and playing multiplayer FPS games. I try not to indulge it much though - expressing anger just makes it easier to express anger. It's best to vent it in a calm, controlled way than blowing up. Since discovering this I'm actually a lot less frustrated in general. I was perpetuating my own behaviour.

1.- Punching something very hard, usually ending up almost breaking my hand, pain ends up distracting me
2.- Loud music (Metalcore or Hardstyle)
3.- Breaking something that shatters

I hang out with my friends mostly. Thats how I get rid of a lot of negative vibes, whether I'm upset, pissed off, or just feeling down about anything. Life is so much simpler when I'm just relaxing with my buddies.

Not sure you really wanted to know this, but I punch walls and subsequently touch myself with the completely red raw, numb hand...

No need to thank me for sharing this with you!

I just kind of...well throw my frustration out. I'll be frustrated for a bit, and then shrug my shoulders and forget about it. It works, dunno how.

Though if I'm having a really crappy day I rage clean/organize. Everything in my house has its perfect place, and so going around and arranging everything that's become askew (if it does) is cathartic.

Yes, that works for me too.

...it was a euphemism for masturbation, right?
Bahahaha haha, that didn't even occur to me, to be honest. Ahh the wonders of posting after an all-nighter. Thank You, you have made my next five minutes.

Indeed.

Also going by Penn & Teller's episode on things, the best solution to anger seems to be counting to 10 and doing something unrelated to it, though of course you still need to address what actually made you angry, and sometimes immidiatly.

For instance if someone set your dog on fire you should put it out first.
