Ragequitting isn't limited to just gaming. You can ragequit anything really. It's happened in relationships, jobs, personal projects that haven't turned out right and even replying to threads here.

Well, what has been your most recent "Fuck this!" moment?

I was writing up a thread and I scrapped the idea after being unable to find the video I was talking about. It was a real ragequit because I had the write up ready and I had spent five minutes looking for the damn video. Maybe it was taken down but it pissed me off.

Applying the term 'ragequitting' to anything not video game related just makes me feel like more of an asshole.

I ragequit an ex once.

I had plans that included drinking for a very very old friends bday (15 years as friends), she lives 1.5 hours away, I told her I wasn't going to miss the party but i'd come to see her when i woke up. I woke up at 3pm, started my drive. called her to let her know I was on my way, she rages at me for not waking up earlier, I tell her she's a selfish **** and hang up. Proceed to drive to fedex to mail her stuff to her. Never talked to her again.

(she's always been sort of selfish, i just brushed it off as her being a bit insecure, but, that took the cake since clearly I had important plans and I had come to see her every weekend for the entire 3 months she had been gone with not so much as a thank you for spending all this time and money to see me and continue our relationship while I have to be away)

Unless that was a 'last straw' kind of moment it seems like you MAJORLY overreacted in my opinion.

Recently, I've been ragequitting work that I need to get done. Unfortunately for me, unlike online gaming, the problem isn't a person and doesn't disappear when I exit...

I'm a classical musician, the last thing I ragequit was a production of the Renaissance opera "Orfeo" because everyone involved in it was a fucking idiot.

I REALLY wanted to ragequit during one of my classes today. I couldn't get these stupid little pieces of copper to solder together. I almost did, except I was finally able to get the teacher's attention and she helped me get them started correctly.

I had a music test today where he gives several shitty tracks you have to memorize the artist and title from hearing it. I just cram before the test and do decent but today I lost my mp3 player. That's a bad start right there. I put the tracks on my phone and turned it on while I drove to college. Fuck touchscreens because I can't use them while driving. I couldn't skip tracks with a press of a button and if I wanted to see what the artist title was I had to wake it up and unlock it instead of just looking at it for a second. Not to mention he did equalize any of it so there would be an inaudible songs and when I turned it up to hear one the next song blew my fucking speaker out (it was shitty and on the verge of crapping out, but I made sure to not blare anything to keep it from going out all the way). FUCK THAT TEST.

Not to mention it's right before finals so I'm stressed from that to the point I just am saying fuck this to everything. I even did the corrupt a file trick to give me more time on a paper that suppose to be due tomorrow.

I rage quit work comp some years ago. Got tired of fighting the corporate machine and the paid off state doctors. I just gave up and walked away, I don't care about the money. I got on disability anyways so I'm covered till I can hopefully figure out a way to get back into the work force.

I rage quit working at a call center a few years ago. It was either that or murder, suicide. Fucking worst shit I've done in my life.

I ragequit a job at bestbuy. They didn't train me up properly, didn't tell me what I was supposed to be doing and yet were always jumping down my throat. Every day I would go an and within the first hour or two, I would be looking at the door telling myself that I could just go. About two weeks later, when a team-lead brought someone on my level over to talk about my schedule and my info, that was my enough-is-enough moment. I was gone.

I am normally quite a calm and reflective person and as a result have not rage quitted anything. Even games I see them through to the end, then call my team a load of shits (only if I'm at the top of course) and leave.

However I did nearly rage quit life.

Nearly. I was on my iPod next to the Rail Track, looking at posts on the escapist, to kill time while I was waiting for my friend to get off from work so I could say goodbye before throwing myself under a train.
3 people in a My Little Pony thread said it stopped them committing suicide. I watched, I went home and here I am now, depressed, on anti-depressants and a Brony... but alive.

I ragequit a conversation a week ago just so I wouldn't end up in a police cruiser for assault because some dickhead that was friends with a friend was talking shit about a person who died 12 hours prior to his rant. I am not a man of violence but I am kicking myself still about not redecorating his skull with glass lamp shards, though I know what I did was truly right...dammit.

I also ragequit my old job at a college bookstore a few months back because I was the only non-manager male and was surrounded by a squadron of unbelievably offensive and over-emotional women. I did all the serious and taxing work while 90% of the staff sat around a counter and gossiped. Shit was unreal. I want to say that I had said or done something wrong to maybe justify the way most of them treated me but there is none! I learned that bitches will indeed be bitches.
