Nope, no duty here. We have trained professionals to exercise law and judgement, not random people - People who are probably more willing to believe emotional QQ-tales from lawyers and the like than someone who's been at it for 20 years.

if you don't want to do it just say you hate black people or something like that, they'll exclude you. or say you went to school with the guy...

I've thought about doing that but it seems a bit unethical...

Because jury duty, bringing a random bunch of completely unrelated and uneducated (usually, in the ways of the law) to decide whether someone's innocent or not is ethical?

Yeah, I'd know what I'd be doing if we'd have a civilian jury in this country. I'm glad we don't. It's the breeding ground of the seedy lawyer, the musical Chicago is such a nice parody of the whole jury spiel.

Jury duty is extremely boring, I actually fell asleep when I was there (2 hours or so?) woke up when they announced everyone is dismissed. Most of the time you won't get called in for a trial anyway.

Just a question. Can anyone be called for jury duty? I mean public figures like celebs or politicians and others that are publicly famous?
