First Thought: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Second Thought: The actor will probably do a good job and I've seen sillier costumes work before. But still...SWEATPANTS + PIMP JACKET!?! That's...really stupid design.

So...what are you guy's thoughts?

If you want to be taken seriously as a joker.. you dress like a joker. If a guy came walking into any business dressed like this of course everyone would think them a joker.. so I guess it is fitting.

What are my thoughts? Well this looks like exactly the kind of continued trend of WB and DC trying to be edgy to appeal to a "younger more hip" crowd. An effort to match Marvel, that constantly falls flat on it's face, while screaming "look how hard I'm trying to be relevant!"... At this point DC is officially dead to me. They always had protagonist characters it's impossible to relate with, instead of working to make their super heroes easier to relate with, they make the less so. Like what they did with Man of Steel. Now they're ruining the villains too, this is especially insulting when they ruin deep and interesting villains like Lex Luthor and The Joker. So I've given up all hope of batfleck being anything less than a joke and DC is officially dead to me, even though WB is still beating hard on that particular dead horse.

Pretty much this, like times a billion.

Not matter what series, be it the cartoons, the fun campy Adam West era batman or the "Why so serious?" Joker from "The Dark Knight" he still dressed up like a goddamn joker!

I honestly don't know what to make of this besides the fact it looks strange as hell.

Honestly, I think it works.

Hear me out.

He's supposed to be unhinged, right? But what's so "unhinged" about wearing a snappy suit and looking dapper as heck? But if you saw somebody dressed like this in public, you'd assume he was too unbalanced to be able to dress properly. That he genuinely didn't understand why people are looking weirdly at him.

I love the Joker, but let's face it, most of the time his "mental illness" amounts to being evil and joking a lot. This guy looks genuinely unwell.

To be fair, many costumes look ridiculous outside of the movie's lighting and style. And from what little we see from the teaser trailer, I do believe the performance will make the costume work. I'm just going to mock sweatpants + pimp jacket until the end of time. Did he watch Weird Al's "Tacky" music video?

...also, get Weird Al to play the Joker.

Being dapper as fuck is deranged when you're doing what the Joker does. It's the inverted version of showing up for a presidential debate wearing a plastic iron man suit.

That's basically what I think of it too. Once you've lived through a few 'trends' and the media trying to fit in with it, you start to easily notice when a company is trying to be hip and appeal to the 'younger crowd'. And to be honest, I don't like it this time at all. This guy looks like a pimp version of the insane clown posse, not like a Joker.

I wanna tear into this. Like, just sink my teeth into it and make it bleed to death is an alley. But I can't, because it fails the very first hurdle any super villain costume has to pass before it can be judged.

1. Can the villain be pantsed by a loose nail, heavy change in the pockets, or a five year old? Yes (Check) No (_______)

It's not a costume to me, it just looks like something a colour-blind drunk would throw on for a walk to the kebab shop. And it doesn't matter how mad he's meant to be, people still need shoes to do everyday people things.

The sweatpants says Arkham on it so its clear its from his time in the Asylum. Other than that, a picture tells a thousand stories.

I don't mind alternate interpretations of characters but scruffy pimp joker seems weird to me. He looks like he could be one of the jokers henchman.

Ok it does look bloody ridiculous, but I kind of like it in a hilariously ironic sort of way...besides the joker has always been ridiculously over the top as a character, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt

It's a ridiculous costume, but then the Joker is a ridiculous character. Not seeing the problem.

I mean, sure, change is bad and they should have kept the franchise in the style of Adam West era Batman, but eh.
