I was just looking around on the web, and I found out that a second season of Fullmetal Alchemist will be produced. Whether it will follow the original or follow the manga is not known.

Thoughts? Feelings? Am I really late for this news?

Anyways, the first episode premiers on April 9th, I believe.

As an avid fan of the series, I am really hoping this goes well, and maybe follow the original storyline. But a new direction is cool, too.

From what I've heard, it will fallow the manga. Which hopefully put an end to all the fanboys bitching about the original didn't follow the manga.

I've know about this for a while, and I'm psyched for it.

Just looked up the preview. Looks like it's gonna be on the 5th not the 9th.

I have a couple small issues with the animation.

1. Have Ed's eyes gotten bigger? (Maybe I'm just so used to seeing his eyes in focused mode)
2. Riza's face. (Something just seems off.)

yay, more closure!

didn't the first series already have a pretty conclusive ending though? They're gonna have to write a lot of stuff about nazis off as non-canon in order to continue the series without it feeling like "the end... and then this happened!"
I agree. It is over, keep it over. Anime that does not know when to show "The End" tend to be lame, but also more attractive to the dumb fanboys. Naruto, Bleach, DBZ, Pokemon. The good animes I find tend to barely reach or exceed 30 episodes.

I have yet to get very far in the manga, does it slowly drop any mystery as the show did?
Well, the horror elements stop being creepy and scary after a few volumes. So yeah.

That was my whole problem with Fullmetal Alchemist. It was a great idea, immersive world and had a lot of neat political messages, but the manga devolved into Generic Shounen Fight-A-Thon within 7 volumes or so.

A lot of other mangas/animes have this problem, too.

I was hoping they wouldn't touch this great series. I am very negative because I feel it's only carry on like all the other stupid animes, fillers and other crap.

Well, if it doesn't turn out good I won't be disappointed but I will be shocked if it maintains it's greatness!

Like Samurai Champloo?
Never watched it like, altogether, just seperate episodes on Adult Swim, but what I saw I really liked, and I am a huge Steve Blum fan and feudal japan fan. I should watch it all the way through maybe...

Sweet mercy. I may just be a fangirl (I am), but I like this idea. I preferred the way the story was told in the manga compared to the anime. Granted, I never finished reading it, but this gives me another excuse to pick it up again.

Yeah, it looks like her eyes have changed as well as his.
I suppose this means she'll have to change her name.

She can't very well call herself Riza Hawkeye with like eyes those.

Well, I got the box set from a store for about 40 pounds in a sale... which is how I came across the series. I found a store stocking it online, but I think it's a region 2 (europe).
