If you have played any significant amount of competitive online gaming you have more than likely pissed someone off and prompted them to send you hate mail. What are some of your favorite messages?

I think the last time I received hate mail was when I played Mortal Kombat on PS3 about a year ago. It had something to do with being a "wall combo noob" or "corner noob."

Seeing as I played Noob Saibot, it really fits. I do stand in the corner zoning the hell out of them and if they get close I do some pretty basic but damaging wall combos.

Of course this is all I can remember. Barely play consoles now and all the hate I get on PC is through live chat.

I have never received actual hate mail. Got a fair few comments in game about the faithfulness and sexual exploits of my mum, and a couple explaining my quality of life though.

Well, this isn't me personally, but I always enjoy reading through the hate mail that Angwe, a somewhat famous vanilla WoW ganker got through his years of ganking.

I haven't really gotten any hatemail myself, though I'm sure I've pissed off more than a few people during my time online, as I'm not entirely innocent of some less than honourable practices.

Really? I can't believe that people are:
a)taking stuff on here seriously enough to actually write hate mail
and
b)not being smart enough not to spew whatever BS they're spewing at mods.

Actually scrath that last one. I'm in customer service, so I know how vile people can be over even trivial things. I'd assume most of the hate mail you're getting is from people who've been banned and/or gotten a warning and stuff, right?

EDIT: And like the others, I of course appreciate the work you do in keeping the place tidy.

Well that's depressing.

Don't worry though, I appreciate the hard work you do, and as everyone knows, my opinion is the only on that matters.

True story.

OT: Playing Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and playing it well gets me a tonne of hatemail :D

I love it.

Hatemail (in gaming) is at its highest occurence in the lower rankings of online fighting games.

> Play against a button masher
> Know how to play the game
> Monster him
> Hatemail in 3... 2... 1...

Or thats what happened with me when i was playing UMvC3 online.

Yup :D

My favourite is when I get accused of 'spamming'.

What? You mean, even though you think I used the same move, over and over again, you still didn't have the inclination to deal with it?

I think that says more about their skill than mine :D

I've never gotten hatemail. But I I do have one interesting experience with game mail in general.

I had done a run through of Journey from beginning to end. Had a companion the entire time. Finally got to the end of the game, and only one name was on the list at the end. That meant I managed to stick with the same guy throughout, which I've never done before. They always drop out. A few minutes later, I get a mail. It's from the guy.

It says:
Bing! Bwom!

Best. Thing. Ever.

I don't play MP all that often anymore, at least not in competitive games. That said, I enjoy getting hatemail. Knowing that I've done something to piss someone off makes me all giddy and warm inside.

Well... there was this one time i managed to pull the Firebrand snapback deathloop (see below video) online and maintain the muscle memory for it for about an hour. The hatemail that was filling my inbox by the end of that play session had the entire visible spectrum of virtol and some going into the non-visible spectrum.

There was also that time i got the hang of Nemesis' tentacle grab resets. You think Nemesis can cause a crapton of damage on its own? Start throwing in resets with that delicious medium tentacle grab and the hatemail takes off faster than Team Rocket.

But yeah i dropped the Firebrand loop, its gratifying to decimate an entire team in total safety and feed off the butthurt tears this produces, but i quickly learned that it began to hurt my performance with other characters.

Ooooh! This sounds good! I like the stuff on fat, ugly or slutty [http://fatuglyorslutty.com/]. That stuff's good too.
I don't like that website. None of my girlfriends have ever been treated like that, so I'm not sure how honest the site's author is. Also, I prefer to focus on the positive and go for constructive advice, where FUS just exists to be negative and I don't think it's ever helped anyone :/
I and loads of other women have been treated like that, just because your girlfriends haven't doesn't mean nobody has. It's not highlighting the negative, it's just a place to point people when they scoff and declare that this stuff doesn't happen to women online. Because it kinda does.

OT: Less hate mail more people blowing up at me in chat. Sometimes it's annoying but a lot of the time it's just funny to me now. Like the dude on WoW a few months ago who called me an undesirable nerd while playing his 85 shaman. Oh then there's the sexist crap but thats depressing.

The last piece of hate mail (sort of) that I got was from some guy on MW3 (surprise surprise) and he felt SO PROUD of himself for getting the final killcam of him sitting there, just sitting there, until I tactically inserted and he lit me up - that he decided to send me a message:
'hahahahah u got fucked up ******'
I just replied:
'Normally I'd reach into my jar of fucks and give you one but I seem to be fresh out'.
He didn't respond. He might have been mad at me for my RPG spammer class for him to do that in the first place methinks.
