Again, they are not legal temporary residents / legal residents.
OK, I see you're not going to answer the question. Let's try another way.
I assume that when you say they "are not legal temporary residents", you do not mean they weren't allowed to be there, because we've all seen the source showing that dozens of them were given official permission to enter. I assume you're referring instead to a specific set of statuses that is often referred to as "temporary residents" or "nonimmigrants", including temporary visa holders, refugees, or TPS recipients. Is that right?
Of course, that definition doesn't cover everyone who is legally temporarily allowed to reside. I was using "temporary legal resident" to refer to people who are temporarily, legally allowed to reside. That includes asylum seekers, parolees, etc, with official permission to be there.
Let's look at their statuses in detail.
1 - Temporary visa holder.
3 - Granted refugee status.
24 - Arrived legally via CBP One, were paroled into USA by authorities.
21 - Arrived legally via CBP One, were detained at point of entry.
The first two groups there are pretty universally considered legal residents. The 24 who were parolled into the USA do not yet have a visa or asylee status, but they are legally allowed to reside temporarily, so i was including them. So i suppose the question is, Which groups are you seeking to exclude? All, even valid visa holders?
And my last question, is why do you think its acceptable to incarcerate people who have committed no infraction, even if they haven't yet received a visa? You've quibbled about legal status so far, to try to argue the US is permitted to punish people who break no law. But why is it ok, in your view, to indefinitely punish people who have not broken any rule of the land? Why would people travel to the US, if they're liable for severe punishment even if they follow the rules?
