Funny, short and simple ? but where is the money?
This is the review of MyBrute.com, a browser game where you create a fighter and fight through different tournaments.
Browser games were often very similar. You needed to log in as often as possible to be competitive and often you had to spend some money to access the top features. Then I found MyBrute.com
Gameplay
Enter a name for your brute. That?s it. Then you can enter the arena or enter a tournament. A tournament happens every two days or so and you can enter a training match in the arena six times for the first day and three times the following days. Oh, and don?t forget to protect your brute with a password.
Fighting
Ok, you chose a fight in the arena. What can you do to win the fight?
Nothing.
Yes, you read it right. You can choose the opponent and you probably want to choose an opponent with low HP and low values because this is the only thing you can influence. Then you can watch the sprite of your brute slide to the left and right, attacking your opponent. Chance to influence? None. Your brute sometimes uses a weapon or one of his special attacks but you cannot influence that either. In the end you either win, which gives you two experience points, or you lose, which gives you one experience point.
Levels
Hey, you finally reached the next level. And now you can spend all the EPs you earned on mysterious and funny skills that make your brute stronger? WRONG! As you can expect it from the description up to here, you don?t choose anything. Everything is chosen by random. The only difference is that the opponents you can choose from are now a level higher.
Clans
With Level 10 you can join a clan. I?m not yet level 10, so I cannot tell you what happens.
Pupils
Oh, finally it?s getting interesting. Mybrute.com works like a snowball system. E.g. if you enter http://adalion.mybrute.com into your browser you see the window of my brute, Adalion. Now enter a name to create a new brute and then the new brute is automatically pupil of Adalion and Adalion is the master of the new brute (master like in Karate Kid, not like in Master and Servant). When your pupils level up you get more experience so feel free to choose Adalion as your master
So what? That?s all?
Yes, it is. There is no item shop where you need to steal, sorry ?borrow? your father?s credit card. You don?t need to log in after midnight to check if your neighbour has sent his army after you mines. Clicking through the three fights per day takes no longer than five minutes. But it?s five minutes of fun per day.
Still I wonder how they are making money out of it. Simply by the number of clicks per day? I didn?t even notice ads on this. But this might just be the internet adaption process of my brain.
Graphics
No, I will not put graphics into this review. They just aren?t worth it. Go out and check it yourself (on www.mybrute.com or better http://adalion.mybrute.com ).
My recommendation ? Buy it (because you don?t need to spend money)
