I have a beagle, which are pretty active dogs, and she tends to work off steam in a way that can drop me to my knees with laughter. The primary method, I call 'the tear'

Basically she begins racing around in a wide circle, every bound punctuated by a grunting growl. Imagine a beagle racing laps to the accompaniment of a sound that could best be described as '*GRNNF!*'

She even banks when she turns.

So, what does your dog do that just lays you out?

I've trained my cocker spaniel to jump when I say "BANZAI". He gets all excited and jumps when he hears the word.

He is also quite funny when around strangers during walks. He was abused as a puppy (before he came to us) and is very shy as a result (not helping that the owners are shy too). So when he sees someone during a walk he will "ignore them", walk past them and try not to pay attention. And when the person has passed he tunrs around and starts sniffing behind them, trying not to be noticed. Lovely.

I use to have a big tri-color (but mostly white) collie by the name of Murphy. And Murphy was very amusing. Let's see...

She would take a bouncy ball and perform a 'drop-catch' without missing a beat. One time, she did so behind my father's back, and stopped whenever he turned to look like she was teasing him.

Then, there is the fact that her growls while playing - like pulling on rope - would sound like a wookie.

One time my brother was pulling on a rope attached to the porch, and Murphy was pulling but...my brother was faking, so when he let go...the dog was still pulling against the porch's 'grasp'.

She would also steal socks, because we gave her old socks to play with. So, sometimes we find her with fresh ones...

Entirely hilarious is any moment in which we got her to bark when her mouth had something in it.

Every time she is finished eating one of my dogs will start licking the window like her life depended on it while tilting her head left and right, I can't help but laugh every time.

My other dog is also a big fan of the tear and loves to play tag with people, the little thing is so agile that she will never be caught if she doesn't want to be. She also likes to rub up against legs like a cat, so we put a bell on her collar. One time she completely disappeared and we couldn't find her anywhere, a few hours later we found her in a closed cupboard asleep on a pile of towels.

Jumping/ standing on her hind legs. I have a theory that she thinks she's human because she seems very eager to spend as little time as possible with her front two paws on the ground which is fine when you see her coming but when she jumps up at you and you're not prepared you do tend to end up on the floor.

Also occasionally she'll just go nuts barking at something. No idea what but she fixates on a certain point ni the room when she's barking so I guess something's getting her attention.

But I think the funniest thing she does is bite her back paws. A lot. For lack of a better word she effectively deepthroats her entire leg sometimes and we have literally no clue why but it's hilarious to watch.

I have a border terrier and he seems completely bonkers when compared to my cat. Granted my cat is fat slob, but still crazy. My dog will only eat when the fat cat comes walking around, unless of course it's table food, but he double checks to make sure the cats looking.

He also raises a paw whenever anybody acknowledges/talks to him. We taught him to shake and he thinks he will get a treat whenever he does it.

One of my dogs (a mix of airedale terrier and great dane) acts pretty much like a little kid. When we catch her eating the garden or making holes and scold her, she instantly goes to a corner and sits in it, looking at the corner like she was grounded.

We didn't teach her that, by the way.

My dog Bobby (Springer/Collie cross) used to have a mad half-hour most nights: he'd move to the middle of the floor in the lounge, lie down and roll over on to his back.. then just start thrashing around from side to side, snuffling and snorting, sometimes trying to catch his tail. It was always when we were sitting watching TV and he obviously wanted to be the centre of attention.

His front and back ends frequently looked divorced when he was playfully running somewhere; the back-end would start catching up to his front, so he was almost running sideways..

He was a weird pooch.

The first time my dog saw an ant.

He sniffed it, it ignored him.

What does he do? He fucking rolls on it. Several times.

Poor ant...

We used to have a Great Dane that would scratch the patio doors to be let in and out. I let him out one morning and left the door open, and when he came back he stood just outside pawing at the space where the door should be. Not realising his mistake, he continued pawing at it for about 5 minutes while me and my family stood laughing, until eventually my dad reached through and gave him a pat on the head. He then came in and hid behind the dining table in embarrassment, before sulking for a few hours :)

We took our old springer spaniel to a beach one time where thousands of little black snails were living in the water out where it was a couple feet deep. After teaching herself how to swim underwater, she somehow figured out that the little black things in the water were somehow alive. For the rest of the day, she would dive underwater, grab a snail, walk over to whoever was sitting on the beach, spit the snail in their hand, sit down, and stare at the snail as it ever so slowly wiggled its foot out of the shell and waved it around trying to flip over. After about five minutes of watching one snail, she would go back in the water, get another one, and repeat the whole process for hours and hours.

The black lab my family had when I was young was just about the smartest dog I've ever known. When he was playing fetch with the kids next door (who were very young at the time) he would bring the ball back to the person who didn't throw it to him, making sure they took turns. When we were at my family's lake cabin, if no one was throwing his ball, he would drop it into the lake, wait for it to drift out, then run and fetch it for himself.

The next dog my family had (a cardigan welsh corgi), was an extremely sensible dog, and would always go to bed right around 10:00 pm, and would start to whine if he couldn't get into my parent's bedroom.

The dog we currently have (another cardigan welsh corgi) likes to watch the movie Lassie Come Home. It's the funniest thing, he will sit there bored when Lassie isn't on screen, sit attentively when she is, will bark encouragement when Lassie tries to jump over a fence, and will start growling when Lassie starts fighting other dogs. Our dog is weird.
