I'm not a furry, despite the fact that I grew up on Courage The Cowardly Dog for breakfast, TMNT for lunch and Arthur for Dinner.
I don't mind that there are people who find sex appeal in furries, and honestly, people that do take issue with furries in general - particularly the whole "is it bestiality or not" nonsense - have probably never set foot in the fandom.
As for this specifically, cat girls/boys and fox girls/boys are just really popular in the anime fandom. Whereas western cartoons tend to go full-furry if they want a hero kids will love, anime just gives them a tail and replaces their ears and calls it a day.

Y'see, there's already a part of the anime-fandom that's devoted to that. It's disgusting, weird, yet oddly fascinating, mostly due to the fact that many artists - particularly horror artists - in the manga field found their footing in it.Casual Shinji said:To my understanding 'furry' is an attraction to animals in humanoid form (anthropomorphic). These pictures are human characters with animal traits.
Maybe both stem from the same place, but furries seem generally attracted to the animal part, while with the latter it's the clash between seeing something sexy mixed with something monstrous. You're attracted to it, but creeped out at the same time. See also mermaids.
