Having more market diversity is never "redundant". Apple and Microsoft basically hold a shared monopoly these days as Linux isn't THAT widely used, even if it's a good OS. Chrome tried, but I don't hear a lot about Chrome OS these days. I say we need MORE people trying to make a new OS. Even if it's similar to the existing ones.

Maybe it's supposed to be a thin client for cloud-based computing? Linux and Windows certainly haven't managed to sell the cloud-compute to private customers.

It seems like the next step for a company that is into all kinds of evil and gets its entire income from violating privacy and spying on users.
